First time visiting, lived in El Monte for 5 years never knew this place was here; small but spacious nice little diner to come have a meal. I had the French Toast Combo with a large orange juice came out to $22.20. With a $7.80 tip came to $30 flat. Food was fine/delicious, place seemed clean. Lot of help in the kitchen, pretty fast service, no complaints. The atmosphere gives like veterans POW/Elk Lodge/small town/diner vibes, a handful of older(40/50+) dudes, a young teen couple and a family with toddler was here when I sat in at 10am on Wednesday morning. Parking: I was able to find a spot, but it is limited-if busy.

Nice family type restaurant very good food. Makes you feel like your part of the family!!
Went there this morning, experience was less than good. Chorizo and eggs was more like chorizo ‘flavored’ scrambled eggs . There was no chorizo with those eggs. The pancakes, terrible, rubbery, tough, like they were store bought, frozen, and reheated, the potatoes were okay, salsa was terrible, the beans were delicious. This breakfast was hardly worth the $42 I paid for two. They do have a friendly and attentive staff.

It is unfortunate to have to give this news about this restaurant since I am very good at eating in restaurants and also at leaving my opinions. Unfortunately, the restaurant is nice and everything, but from the owner to the last worker who works there they have the most heavy that you could see I am the granddaughter of a daily consumer who has not been going there lately and the two times he has taken me to eat there with me they have treated me like an old flip flop he has ignored me it is difficult for them to take an order they stare at it with a face like I don't owe them or like someone is going to ask them and what a shame what a shame because it's a good place nice place nice story and everything but with a way as bad as yours and I have five more stories with which I also I am a critic of places and unfortunately I am going to have to do it because every time I arrive with this person I always receive non-verbal attacks but you can feel them

It's such a great classic diner. I went in not expecting much, but eggs were delicious, and the texture was great. Pancakes are delicious by themselves, with vanilla coming through nicely. This place would give a lot of hip breakfast places a good run for their money.

The outside look made us hesitate but a friend suggested to go there because he knew the place. It is really disappointing that the owners like to have the interior dark, even when they have big windows they keep the blinds closed. No air conditioning either (at least it was off). The food has no flavor at all and the worse is that all the food we ordered was horrible! Tasted like old ingredients put together. Huevos Rancheros with no ranchero sauce, instead they poured something like refrigerated chips sauce on top. Every bite tasted like food on water. The same thing happened with steak ranchero and chilaquiles, the potatoes were undercooked and not seasoned..The food is just disgusting. We had to take some alka-seltzers as soon as we arrived home. Definitely not a place to go. I do not recommend any food at all. I read some of the good 5 stars reviews and I do not understand how they can describe a good culinary experience! May be we were in a different place? One thing for sure is that the wannabe Mexican food is plain gross.

Decent food and service. Don"t like the fact that they charged $1.95 service charge for using credit card.
