Tacos El Negro, located off Peck, is known for its high-quality steamed tacos with a variety of meats like lengua and asada. The restaurant provides a clean and friendly atmosphere with plenty of seating inside and drive-through takeout options. The menu features tacos al vapor, made with fresh and flavorful ingredients such as onions, cilantro, and salsas. Customers often praise the meat for being cooked to perfection and chopped well, making the tacos incredibly tasty. The salsa bar is a highlight, offering both green and red salsas, which are enjoyed equally and often drenched onto the tacos. The green and habanero salsas are highly recommended, with some noting that the habanero is very spicy but in a good way. Many visitors describe the tacos as light, fresh, and melt-in-your-mouth delicious, with the tortillas being soft and flavorful.
Recent reviews highlight favorites like beef lips/labio and beef head/cabeza for their rich flavors, noting that the tacos are not oily, unlike other locations. Customers appreciate the hand-made tortillas and good portions. Cleanliness is noted positively, extending even to the bathrooms, which suggests that the employees maintain high standards. Some fans claim these are the best tacos they've ever had, with one customer driving an hour just to enjoy them. Overall, Tacos El Negro remains a favorite spot for taco lovers, offering great taste at an affordable price.
