We stayed 4 nights in mid-May at Yosemite Cedar Lodge #YCL and were very pleased with its proximity to Yosemite. We were typically in the valley within 30 minutes. The location is definitely a 5/5 stars. For an old-style hotel, the rooms were spacious and had the refrigerator and microwave typical of chain hotels. The service was excellent. For example, around 7 pm of our first night, we asked at the office for more facecloths and a second luggage rack, and someone brought them...
We stayed in #615 which was one of the remodeled rooms. They did a great job on the remodel. The bed was super comfy.
The TV was a bit wonky at times. It would change channels, bring up the menu, increase the volume, etc. I thought it was the remote so I took the battery out. That didn't seem to make a difference. I meant to tell the front desk, but we weren't in the room much so it didn't seem to matter enough to us.

This place is lovely. We just left Yosemite valley and I wish we would have stayed here the entire time. Way cleaner and cheaper. Super Clean! Kitchenette and very kind staff. Our son loved the pool also! We even checked in early. Cute town mariposa with larger grocery store. If I had to recommend a place to stay close to Yosemite valley, THIS IS IT!
