We were seated right away probably because we were there at 5pm. The eatery was quiet. We waited for the rest of our group. Drinks came quickly. We got our orders in before the rush. I had the Bolognese, my husband had the lamb skewers, friends had the chicken skewers, lamb shank, risotto. Everything was wonderful. But as the restaurant got busier it got harder to get the attention of the servers. We had ordered our desserts with our dinner and servers brought our checks and we were still waiting for the desserts. We waited 30-45 minutes for dessert. The place was pretty noisy by the time we left.

I was very pleasantly surprised by this restaurant, which I had picked largely because it was close to where I needed to be afterwards. But it turns out the food was excellent, the service friendly and the dining space pleasant without being ostentatious. And it was QUIET enough to have a dinner conversation without having to shout. There was a bit of background music but it was barely audible so it did not cause diners to shout to hear each other speak. And the tables are far enough apart, so you get visual and auditory privacy. In fact, the restaurant layout is suited for privacy. It's sort of a U-shape rather than a large room, so you're not near a lot of other diners, and the bar is in a separate room, so diners don't get a lot of bar noise.

Importantly, there is plenty of free parking in off-street lot.

We went during LA Restaurant week and had the special menu. I had the scallops, which were elegantly served on half-shells and were cold and delicious. Two of us had the Branzino, which was served whole, batter-fried, and it was not only beautiful to look at but yummy. I had the rice pudding desert, which was excellent, with flavors I did not recognize but enjoyed. One of my companions had the flan and praised it, though I didn't taste it myself. At $45 for the three-course meal, I thought it was a steal. I had an alcoholic drink called The Heights of Machu Picchu for $17, which is a bit on the pricey side, but it was absolutely worth it. It was cool and refreshing with a flavor I hadn't tasted before.

All told, this was an excellent dining experience. Kudos to server Elysia L. and her two helpers for being friendly and attentive while not being obtrusive.

Now that I've discovered Nomad, I plan to go back and try some of the other stuff on their ample menu.

First time so didn't know what to expect. Greeted at door and escorted to table by window. Server was knowledgeable and attentive. Ordered Salmon. It was delicious. Hummus was creamy and flavorful. Will definitely be back.

Wonderful service and delicious meals. We had the Lamb Shank Risotto, and the Filet Mignon Lomo Saltado from the Dine-LA menu. Very tasty and well seasoned. One of our group had wine and it was very good. The staff were polite and the Chef/Owner came and spoke with us afterwards. He's friendly and knowledgeable and very passionate about food. We are looking forward to our next visit. Highly recommend!

Went to Nomad with friends and we all decided to order off the DineLA menu (one the best things at Nomad was not everyone has to order off the DineLA menu). Two of us ordered the Mezze Plate for our first course while others had the Moules Frites and the Burrata and Roasted Grapes. For our entrees we chose the Lamb Shank Risotto, Filet Mignon Lomo Saltado, and salmon. For dessert the Crème Brûlée, Tiramisu and Coconut Rice Pudding. for $45 per three course meal it was a great deal. All the courses and meals ordered were great and the on,y item we'd not order again would be the tiramisu.

I have a few questions - has anyone eaten at this restaurant lately? How did you pay? With cash or credit card? Did you hand over your credit card to the server or did you use Apple Pay? If you handed over your credit card at this restaurant, did you check your credit card statement lately? What did you see in your statement? Please share your experience.

We love Nomad. The food and ambience can't be beat. The staff is always friendly and welcoming, they've been their for years. Great for a special meal or a quick bite. Great alternative to some of the loud, crazy expensive trendy new places that pop up. All around a really nice night out.
