This cafe is in downtown El Segundo and has the coolest and biggest slices of french toast. You'll have to add the fruit toppings, but it is the perfect way to eat these huge slices of french toast. Enjoy!

I normally don’t leave reviews, but this place definitely deserves my time. With decades of restaurant experience under my belt, I can proudly leave this review. The food is not fresh, the omelettes are from a carton of eggs with flour, the bacon they use is known as scraps in the industry, their toast is of the lowest grade quality that you can use, and the cheese is mostly oil and not dairy. The list could truly go on because low quality ingredients are a standard throughout their entire menu.Food 0Service 0Owner 0I will leave you with this my friends, IHOP and DENNY’S are fine dining compared to Metro Cafe. The name Metro makes Metro Transportation look bad. This place is not worth risking your health or wasting your money!

We were here for brunch today, seated for less than an hour and asked to leave within minutes of paying our check because there were people waiting. We were paying customers (over $200 bill for brunch) and still finishing our drinks, our kids still finishing their pancakes when this request was made. I was taken aback at this request as it wasn't busier than any other Sunday brunch spot. Had we been there for several hours I would understand. But their urgency to move our table so quickly was uncool. We came for a fun brunch with our two friends and our kids, and very quickly felt like we were on the clock. When they brought our food they didn’t even take the time to walk the food around the table to each person (like every other restaurant). But rather stood at the front of the table and quickly handed us each plate expecting us to pass the plates down. While the food was good, The whole service experience was not enjoyable. I’ve never had an experience like this before. Definitely will not be coming back here. And I suggest the staff slow down a little so people can actually enjoy their breakfast.

Great brunch. Eggs Benedict and breakfast potatoes were delicious. We were able to get outside, shaded seating with our dog.

All five of us had something different. The BLT salad was wonderful, the turkey and swiss cheese was so so. The bread was wonderful but the turkey and cheese were tasteless. One of the other salads had way too many peppers in it. The avocado toast with egg on top was great.

If you’re looking for a great casual meal in El Segundo, check out Metro for salads, sandwiches, burgers, soups, and coffee. The staff was attentive, friendly, and welcoming; they let me choose which table I wanted to sit at and brought me water right away. They have a variety of seating options, including high tops along the large windows, regular low tables, bar seating, and an outdoor patio. You could tell they genuinely appreciated you dining with them, and this made me feel welcome and want to return again soon. For parking, there’s plenty of free street parking on both Grand Ave and in the neighborhood streets, along with free parking in the structure connected to Metro. For coffee, they carry the Italian-style by Caffe Luxxe, roasted locally in Los Angeles. It was a little late in the day for me for coffee this time, but I’ve had it here before and it was smooth and delicious. To drink, I went with the Fresh Squeezed Orange Juice ($9) and it was so delicious, fresh, and refreshing that I drank it way faster than I’d intended. For my lunch entree, I felt like the salad with the same name as their establishment would be a good choice, and I was not disappointed with my decision. The Metro Salad ($19) comes with red gem lettuce, watercress, English peas, a generous portion of freshly sliced avocado, almonds, thinly shaved manchego sheep’s cheese, and mint dressing. I added the grilled chicken ($5) and it was perfectly cooked and paired well with the Metro Salad.Overall, a great casual experience, and I can’t wait to return again soon!

After reading the reviews, we decided to have breakfast at this Cafe before catching our flight. The food in the reviews looked great but we left not having the experience we thought we'd have. All of us got an omelet which came with potatoes and toast. The omelet looked dry like it was sitting there from the day before. If it was, I'm not sure why it took so long for our food to come out. They did the shortcut way of pre- making the egg part of the omelet and then did the filling fresh. I ordered the spinach and feta. The spinach was supposed to be sautéed but it looks like they just tossed it real quick in a pan with the feta. It wasn't as cooked as I would have liked. The combination of the spinach, feta and dill actually tasted good but poorly executed. Maybe if we ordered some of their other dishes like the waffles or egg benedict they would have been better choices, but if you can't make an omelet completely from scratch then it shouldn't be on the menu.

Food was wonderful and tasted delicious. The omelette was well done with the veggies full of flavor. The French toast had great brioche that were also big and filling. Combined with fruits makes up for a full meal. Highly recommend.Tried tres leches latte but couldn’t get behind more sweetness after the French toast.
