The sushi here is excellent. We had the bluefin, yellowtail, and albacore sashimi/nigiri, and all three were fresh, cleanly cut, and handled with skill. One can tell the chef cares about the fish and knows traditional technique. The kitchen side needs a little tightening up — I ordered curry rice and received curry noodles instead. Not a big deal, but not ideal when specifics are missed. Still, the sushi quality easily outweighs the small slip. The LAX roll was great as well. Bottom line: if you're here for serious sushi, this place is worth trying. Not a whole lot of room but for smaller groups of say 5-10 is a good location! — NJ

Absolutely the best sushi experience we've ever had, certainly will make our way here again when in LA.

Service is great and the food is too. My wife and I come here every time we visit family on this side of town. It is our favorite, the chef is a master and always uses high quality ingredients for high quality food. Definitely a pricier dinner but for a date night with someone you love in a comfortable low key spot, it’s perfect. Will come back again and again.

The best sushi I’ve ever had. We got the popcorn shrimp roll, el Segundo roll, seared scallop roll, cucumber salad, and tuna sashimi. Everything was incredible. Super cute interior design too. The service was great. 10/10 recommend!

The food here is by very good but not necessarily beyond something you couldn’t find elsewhere. The service was very attentive. The atmosphere inside is excellent. It’s small and energetic. Very welcoming

Saloon Osaka is hands down my favorite spot in El Segundo. The shishito peppers were amazing and cooked perfectly. The Saloon Osaka Roll was out of this world and honestly one of the best rolls I have ever had. The lemon sorbet at the end was incredible and the perfect finish to the meal. The prices are fantastic for the quality you get and everything feels crafted with care.

The vibe is cool and welcoming and you can tell the team truly cares about every guest. The service was spot on from start to finish and made the whole experience feel special. This is the kind of place you walk out of already planning your next visit. I cannot recommend Saloon Osaka enough.

Saloon Osaka is a very good local sushi bar. Very fresh fish, and some innovative dishes. Anyone who likes sushi should try Saloon Osaka.

Sushi in The South Bay at a convenient location in a strip mall in El Segundo. This place has it all including Bento Boxes after 6:00PM! We started with a tuna sashimi in white truffle oil and citrus that was delicious. Crispy crab roll might have been a bit too crispy but was tasty nonetheless. The Premium Chirashi Bowl was excellent, too. For dessert, don't miss the olive oil cream rolled in fresh pistachio nuts. Simple sake and beer list. Very reasonable pricing but as with all sushi restaurants everything adds up. My only suggestion would be to use a larger shrimp for the tempura. Otherwise, this place is a little gem and we can't wait to return. Be sure to ask for Roberto who will happily guide you through the menu. Not many terrific servers left but this guy knows how to treat a customer well.

Sushi was delicate and fresh, but portions were a bit small. Overall taste was good but not incredible. Service was great, everyone was so nice and accommodating. Atmosphere is very cozy and friendly.

The service is on point and the food selection is perfect for a variety of hunger levels. From nigiri to udon (curry udon has stellar flavor for vegetarian or non-fish-lover friends), I haven't found a single thing to complain about. I visit LAX every few months and look forward to the next dish I get to try out next.

Vegetarian options: Curry Udon was delicious.

My girlfriend and I celebrated her birthday at Saloon Osaka off Imperial Ave and had a good experience. Before dinner, we enjoyed some plane watching at Clutter's Park, which set a relaxed tone for the evening. The food was delicious— we ordered the gyu-don, unagi avocado bowl, four handrolls (two toro and two salmon), and two pieces of aji nigiri. Each dish was thoughtfully prepared and full of flavor. However, when it got busy, service lagged a bit. One server seemed unfamiliar with the menu, and with only one sushi chef handling all tables, our waits stretched longer than expected. In fact, I waited an extra 10-15 minutes for my aji nigiri, though I ordered it in the middle of the meal. Despite these hiccups, the attentive staff made it right by offering us a complimentary dessert after noticing our delay. Overall, while the pace could use some improvement on busy nights, the quality of the food and the restaurant's commitment to customer satisfaction made our birthday dinner a worthwhile experience.
