Can't believe this has been around the corner for years and we didn't know. Neighborhood spot, quirky but unpretentious, friendly waiter Daniel and the food was great. Fish was all quality, the karaage was flavorful, and the shrimp tempura in the bento set came out of left field as some of the best I've had between sawtelle and gardena/torrance. Have not been when it's slammed, but this will easily replace our go to's in Manhattan Beach.

I flew in late tonight from Las Vegas and managed to score a table here for a delicious meal. The menu is perfect and the food is exactly what you are craving. The waiter, Dean, was fantastic and very knowledgeable about their best dishes. Thanks Dean! I had a wonderful meal, and I will definitely be back.

NEVER DOUBT THE RECOMMENDATION OF A FELLOW YELPER! PERIOD DOT! I go in and out LAX regularly and read about this Establishment in Ran C's review. Okay, and last week, my curious nature got the better of me. I left my friends (they wanted steak at some steakhouse) and I meandered over to Saloon Osaka in El Segundo What a pleasant surprise to find a cute unassuming eatery in this little strip mall. If you didn't know it was there you will never find it and therein lies the beauty of Yelp reviews. I had the basic Chirashi ($35) which was more than enough for my little tummy. Salmon, maguro, hamachi, some seared white fish and tamago topped with a scoop of ikura over a seasoned bed of rice. Just for the heck of it, I tried their assorted Tempura (this is my personal test on any establishment - the quality and freshness of the oil is important in Tempura) passed with flying tastebuds. There are 4 counter seats in front of the refrigerator of fish and other goodies. That's where I sat and had a fun conversation with the sushi man and owner and his waiter. There are a few other tables, I think you can fit3 people full load capacity. Beer, wine and sake selection is unique. I tried Lucky Cat Beer (and those who know me will be laughing as I'm not a beer drinker) Someone echoed karaoke ? Wait, I'll be back

This is a small restaurant that's big on service and has the best sushi we've had in the LA area.

You can taste the freshness in the food, it was amazing. The service I received was so great. Waiter was friendly. Sushi chef was the best. Soo definitely made our day better not only with his kindness but his amazing sushi. Will definitely be coming back!

I had the Fire Cracker Roll and the Curry Udon(vegan). The food is very rich with flavor, you can tell the ingredients are fresh. The chief is very interactive with his customers. The shop is small but makes the atmosphere feel homey. Definitely a good place to come with a small group of friends (3-4). Great experiences. Definitely a place that appreciates quality.

Super under staffed restaurant, one waiter only and he helps the kitchen as well, so 0.5 waiter on a Friday night. Good quality delicious food but you'll be waiting forever to get to order and then wait for the food and wait to pay for your food. We'd want to order more but don't want to stuck in the restaurant playing the waiting game. Probably not going to be back.

Happy to report Saloon Osaka continues to be excellent. The spicy tuna and crispy rice appetizer kind of surprised me with how good it was (simply because at other places spicy tuna can be a hit or miss for me). The uni was wonderful and I wish I could eat their yellowtail carpaccio every single day. Highly recommend!!

Went tonight with my family, delicious food! Sashimi was amazing and so fresh, what a gem in the little corner of El Segundo! Compliments to Chef Keith! Amazing and attentive service from our server Dean.

We had an exceptional dining experience, with a perfect 5 out of 5 rating. We opted for the large assorted sashimi platter, which generously included an abundance of toro, known for its exquisite taste and quality. Additionally, the toro hand rolls were a standout, adding to the overall delightful culinary journey.

Excellent Sushi and traditional Japanese foods like Osaka Potato Curry over rice, delicious!!!!! We read from an extensive menu, ordered Sapporo in a bottle, and began with LAX roll, and much sushi that was cut fat and large!!!!! This time we did not order Sake but they have an amazing selection! We had a young server who was attentive and did not miss a beat! Did I mention excellent music selection! Not too loud so we could talk while still being enjoyable! Oh and karaoke was obviously available but we did not partake! Seems a large party the night before did do Karaoke and the server showed us a video of the restaurant during a Karaoke night!!! Looks fun with a group!!!!! Amazing food!!!!! A must in all culinary snob repertoires!
