I checked out of Aloft El Segundo two weeks ago, and this has been one of the most upsetting hotel experiences I’ve ever had.
I went to bed with no bites and woke up covered in 30+ bites on my legs and butt. The bites were so severe I had to go to urgent care, and then see my doctor again a week later when they still were not healing. Weeks later, they are still visible.
I don’t sleep with clothes on, which explains where most of the bites are and why I cannot post photos publicly.
When I reported this, I also found a blood stain on the mattress. My room was changed, but there was no apology, no guidance, and no manager ever contacted me.
After checkout, I received one response saying the hotel was not responsible, despite the fact that I went to bed fine and woke up covered in bites. Since then, they have done nothing.
The aftermath has been brutal. I have been washing and rewashing my clothes in hot water over and over, sealing belongings away, and throwing out anything with crevices because of fear of contamination. I had to discard my suitcase, purse, wallet, and shoes. The stress and mental toll of worrying about bringing something into my home has been constant.
This isn’t just bad customer service. It’s a complete lack of care after a serious health and safety issue.
Do not stay at Aloft El Segundo.

This is by far the best hotel bar I have been in. Bar staff are friendly and make you feel like a long-lost friend rather than a customer. Food is tasty, and both times, I had quick service. Will definitely be my airport bar/hotel when in LA.

Awesome atmosphere. I was staying next door at the Fairfield INN. Was looking for a cool Lounge Bar. So I walked over. Couldn't believe how awesome the lobby bar at ALofts was. Outdoor balcony overlooking the pool. And this being LA, the customers looked fabulous, of course. Bartenders are amazing. Super sweet. They call you by your name. I will definitely stay here next time. Only thing I was sad about was that the Crystal Bar doesn't light up because they lost the remote control ????? I'm certain it'll be fixed soon. I can't rate the rooms because I didn't stay here but. I do have Marriott points. So next time. I also love that the Hotel looks like a cruise ship. ?

Dee is an amazing social bar tender that made sure everyone at the bar was introduced to everyone else and it was exactly what I was looking for to not just have 2 beers and retreat to my room.
