Normally I love the food at Black Bear. Yesterday I ordered the Potato Bacon Soup and was completely disappointed. It was made with water and corn starch and NO hint of bacon. Start the base with onions, garlic and bacon fat from the bacon that is actually added to soup and half of the potatoes and simmer. When potatoes are soft blend in pot with immersive blender. Add bacon and the rest of the potato slices and simmer. Then add a little cream or whole milk, season with salt and pepper. Now your Potato and Bacon Soup is worth $9 a bowl!

First! The good! My breakfast was dynamite! Scrambled, three links, and wheat toast! And, a lot of coffee! Good coffee, after the first taste!Now! You guys need to figure a way for the customer to leave the money on t he table! The other night, there were probably six people waiting go pay! Then, after paying, I have to go back to the table to leave the money! I use a cane! I often have to ask/tell people to move!Dietary restrictions: Diabetes

My first experience at this location had high expectations. They met them, the salad (see picture) was fresh with tasty and beautiful tomatoes & cucumber slices. The meal was served with a corn muffin and real butter.I had the Roast turkey dinner served with regulars and nicely steamed broccoli and plenty of cranberry sauce. Was hoping for carved whole turkey alas a brest roast.Every staff member a delight. I will be back.
