The food is great, but what really sets this restaurant apart is their customer service! They were out of the desert that I wanted so they gave the table a free slice of cheesecake on the house! They also gave us a gift for spending over a certain amount during our visit. It was such a nice treat and they really made the visit feel special.

This was the best sushi I’ve had in awhile. I’m not a huge fan of the raw stuff so I got a volcano roll. Delicious!! I also got the gyoza they were perfect. Great price and fast service

We had made reservations for a large party so we didn't have to wait for a table, but there were empty tables available. They only had bento boxes for lunch, not for dinner. The entire menu didn't have a lot of variety.
I ordered 2 sushi rolls, while the taste was fine, presentation could use a little work. I've rolled sushi since I was a kid, and the ones I received, the rice wasn't very compact and almost was falling apart. We also ordered ramen, that didn't taste correct either, the noodles were off and the broth wasn't good enough to drink.
I don't like giving negative reviews, everything else from the parking, service, drinks were fine, but it wasn't the best Japanese food.

Fujiya is beyond yummy. For anyone in the area craving Sugarfish, KazuNori, or Sushi by Scratch, highly recommend stopping here, sitting at the sushi bar, and enjoying melt-in-your-mouth fresh, playful nigiri as well as special hand rolls like the Negi Toro Uni handroll. We don’t live in Elk Grove, but any time we are visiting extended family ~40 mins away from the restaurant, we feel inspired to stop here for a delicious treat.
Fantastic rolls and nigiri! Drinks were also delish! Service was kind and attentive. Atmosphere is relaxed and easy. Very clean.

We came in at 20:40 which is about an hour before they close. They had us wait for a few minutes to be seated. Then a lady approached us and said they're doing last calls already and told us to just order a to-go. Then why have us wait in the first place?

Fujiya is the perfect sushi spot in Elk Grove. Fresh, beautifully prepared fish, thoughtful presentation, and a menu that delivers every time. If you’re familiar with sushi in the greater Sacramento area, I’d rank it above Mikuni and just slightly below Kru….which is high praise.
