Im docking them a star because every time I'm hear the AC is on. 9am yesterday and the freaking AC is running blowing my bfast cold while it's 45 degrees outside. Also customer service has gone downhill, and food was not so good. My go to for bfast in Elk Grove but the quality has gone down while the prices are still high.

The worse service ever . I think they changed management and cooks . It was horrible . They don’t even know what they are saying when they take your order . The waitress would never come back and it wasn’t even busy. The food took forever. The drink was the nastiest drink ever . Do not get the peppermint mocha . It’s awful. It takes like the McDonald’s coffee . I am never going back . They need to bring back the manager they had before . He was amazing and professional . He had great employees with an amazing service . Don’t waste your money coming here anymore .

We walked in and immediately got a table before the rush started so that was lucky, but be fully prepared to wait a while. The waitress was friendly, the restaurant was super packed but she still regularly checked on us and made helpful menu recommendations. I ordered the Monte Cristo and liked it quite a bit, the bread might have been better if they had skipped the egg batter but I still liked it. There was a nice sauce/jam that you can put on it that adds some wonderful flavor. Fries were seasoned a little inconsistently but still tasted good. If I'm in the area again, I'll be sure to stop in!

Dennys and iHop is better.
Beignets were too bready and weird texture inside. My French toast was very plain. My carmel macchiato was very watery. Won't be going back. Great service otherwise.

If you're in the Sacramento area, you've got to try Hucleberry's. The food was great and I liked hiw they decorated the inside like a Lousiana bayou.

Disappointed, not going to lie. California Benedict looked like it was made night prior. Just looked like it was someone’s left over put together. Our Begets were cold and hard. Fries were soft and soggy. Overall just disappointed. Was looking forward to the meal and coming back. No wonder it was slow when I walked in.

Wasn't impressed with steak and eggs. Menu says steak is 16 ounces when it's really like 8 ounces at most. Also very thin and rubbery. Rest was just ok. Picture on menu was very misleading as well. That's definitely not a Ribeye steak.

A very disappointing and underwhelming experience. The Beignets were undercooked, the muffin was dry, the biscuit was microwaved with a soggy bottom, and the vanilla iced latte tasted like it came out of Jack in the Box. The skillets looked pretty but as you went past the top layer the quality really dropped. Definitely not planning on coming back.

As someone who appreciates rich, soulful cuisine, I was excited to try Huckleberry, a restaurant that markets itself as Louisiana-inspired. Unfortunately, the experience did not live up to the promise.
The essence of Louisiana cooking—bold flavors, aromatic spices, and deep cultural roots—was noticeably absent. The dishes lacked authenticity and seasoning, leaving them flat and uninspired. Whether it was the gumbo, étouffée, or cornbread, everything tasted muted, as if it had been created with caution rather than confidence. True Louisiana cuisine tells a story in every bite, but here, the narrative was missing.
Customer service also left much to be desired. Staff interactions felt transactional at best. There was a lack of engagement, warmth, and knowledge about the menu, which only deepened the disconnect between what was advertised and what was actually delivered.
With its concept, Huckleberry has so much potential—but in order to truly honor Louisiana culinary tradition, it must invest in both flavor and service. A re-evaluation of seasoning, cooking techniques, and staff training could elevate this establishment significantly.
