This place is a gem in Elk Grove. I'm very reluctant to review this place because their opening hours are short and there're a lot of people wanting to eat here already. Everything here is so homey and so good. The sushi isn't your typical fancy sushi but the portions are good and the fishes are always very fresh. The home-made style hot food is where it's at here at Yoshi, everything has been very good.

We sometimes forget about Yoshi because it's a hidden restaurant. We probably hadn't been there for close to 5 years and now we've been there twice in a month! The Sashimi is amazing as it's served on ice and the fish is kept cold the entire time we're eating it! The chef (owner) serves the sashimi to us and explains what fish is which! We've had the Salmon salad that was very good and I requested the dressing on the side as I don't like my salad drenched in dressing. The last time I had Teriyaki Salmon and it came with house salad and rice. Loved the crispy salmon skin! The restaurant is small and best to try to call and make reservations. Sometimes they don't answer the phone because they're so busy where we got there at 5pm when they open for dinner. The waitresses are super friendly and accommodating!

Always great quality sushi with awesome service! The wait can be long (up to 45-60min at lunch or dinner) so don't go here and expect quick food. Prices are reasonable. Highly recommended.

Best Japanese restaurant in Elk Grove. Service is slower but it is worth it. The hostess has an amazing memory and is always a joy to see. The food is top notch. I always get their chicken katsu curry but their other dishes are great

Best sushi I've had in a while. Fish was fresh. Rolls were fresh and not pre-refrigerated. Excellent and unexpectedly so. Anago was tasty and fresh. Everything was tasty! Excellent service as well.

Amazing quality nigiri, and the nicest owners! This restaurant reminds us of the food we ate during our trip to Japan.

Great food and really authentic. Portions could be a little bigger but quality over quantity.

This is easily the best sushi spot in Elk Grove. Amazing food, fair price point. Good service. High quality. This place never disappoints. They are small so hard to get in sometimes and the atmosphere is good just quaint. Highly recommend this spot. Ordering to go is good too, So I can still get in ?.

Excellent food, excellent service and good value. The only authentic, more traditional Japanese food in Elk Grove. Highly recommended.

Food is excellent. Had sashimi for one and pork belly appetizer. My cohort had the chicken katsu curry. Fish was very fresh no hint of smell at all. Presented on a leaf on a bed of ice. The pork belly was super tender and flavorful. The curry had the perfect Japanese curry flavor. Be aware that service is good but be willing to wait for your food. If you there to chat and eat it's perfect. If you're hungry and want something fast go elsewhere. The wait is not long but they have been having trouble finding front and back help. Lunch is husband and wife team. I've tried most everything on the menu and enjoyed it all. Enjoy.

Tried ordering for pick up but they don't answer their phone. Drove to order in person but they said the wait would be two hours.

Best sushi in the Central Valley. Took the wife her night before Xmas Eve. Got in early. Service is "slow" but keep in mind there's only one wait person and two chefs. This is a true mom and pop place. Good selection of beer and sake. Has a sushi combo, toro and more. Spectacular authentic Japanese food. So happy we found this place!!! Nihongo o hanashimasu!

Best Japanese restaurant in Sacramento area. Quaint place owned and operated by a couple. They have the best curry, the best sushi, and the best attitude. Good food and service take a little time, so if you are in a hurry or love food coming out in 5 minutes, this place is not for you. They cut out the frills and thrills of other restaurants and just give you honest to goodness food. My last time there I had the monk fish liver and it was to die for.
