My Argentine partner has approved these empanadas- after many failed attempts to fulfill that empanada craving in the Bay. I picked up a batch of fresh and warm empanadas for a party and they were such a hit! Plus we got the Choripan sandwich and it was so delicious and flavorful, full of grilled onions and peppers.
The staff here were so warm and welcoming and I could tell they take pride in their food. We will definitely be back, and likely stocking our freezer with their frozen empanadas!
Great drink options too - beer, wine, soft drinks, mate, dulce de leche coffee!

Javi's is a hidden gem. Stop what you're doing and go there immediately!! The empanadas and chimichuri sauce are the best and to top it off Carolina is a sweetheart!!! I had such a great time eating and enjoying my yummy food, having a beer and an iced coffee. I got a chance to meet Javi too and he was so cool and kind. I could.hear the passion in his voice, he loves what he does and he even hooked me up with a delicious housemade Argentinian cookie that I highly recommend you also get. I'll be back soon!

Excited to see the Empanadas Argentinas sign as we were driving by so I had to check it out. I was served by Javi himself ~ very charming :). Tried the empanada champiñones con salsita chimichurri pequeña ($1 for the sauce). Contrary to complaints noted, it only took five minutes or so to heat up (I expect to wait for proper oven heating!) -- and yes, mine was perfectly hot hot all the way through (very important!). I was hoping for more robust spiciness and perhaps sauciness of the mushroom-onion-cheese filling, but it was clearly fresh and nicely made. The baked dough is beautiful...perhaps just the tiniest bit underdone in the thickest part, but the exterior is beautiful, flaky, golden, and the edge is an extra yummy bit of bread after the fact (think edge crust on a pizza, the after-meal). The chimichurri is most impressive due to its TON of minced fresh herbs -- I'm seeing rosemary right off the bat, just a beautiful herb mixture. I'd love a stronger heat and lemon kick, but I'm an over-the-top flavor person. Still, the empanada y salsita are impressively beautiful to look at and feel healthful, real home cooking. I wish your business continued success, Javi and team!

I’m latino and I stopped by Javi’s cooking last week, was really excited to try their empanadas. Honestly some were really good, flaky and flavorful but I kinda expected a little more from the place. I’ll probably come back to try more but hope they fix a couple things

The food is amazing. The people making the food are even better. This place is a must go. I am so glad we discovered it. It has one the friendliest staff. And they make fantastic food.
I had sandwiches and empanadas and both were so tasty. I will definitely go back when I am in the area.

They are always SO nice and it is just a joy coming here. Reminds me of the empanadas my grandma used to have for us.
Usually get the pollo and carñe empanadas with chimichurri but am sure any of it would be good.

Empanadas are so delicious, and crust is buttery and flakey!! Catered three dozen empanadas in 6+ flavors for a toddler birthday party. Order arrived on time, hot, and flavors were nicely labeled. Management even called to confirm we had everything needed because we placed an extra order late the night before. We’ll be ordering again soon!
Vegetarian options: Several vegetarian options and very clearly labeled when included in meat order

I love the empanadas…….. But one of the workers or maybe she’s the owner not sure some times her hair is dyed blue but every time after I make a purchase she literally begs for a tip!!!!!!! I think that’s so unprofessional. I feel that’s at the customers discretion. I’ve never experienced that anywhere but there, I really wanted to tell her that’s why I never leave one because she literally tries to guilt you into it or just down right asks…… have some pride and let the customer decide. The food is pretty pricey at that. I’m just saying.
