Cozy soul food spot in the middle of the Bay Area. Nice folks good music and great food. Whole family can eat for under $100. 5 starts highly recommended.

The food is always good here and the service is always kind and friendly. I have been here several times and have never been disappointed. Run don’t walk if you looking for some good soul food in the bay.

The fish was not good. Tried it twice. The greens were lukewarm the sweet potatoes had too much sugar. The muffin was good. Outta lots if dishes so get there early. Beans n rice good. Pork chops always good. Cocktail weak on alcohol. Brown sugar drink weak and not good. Service not great. But i tip well only because its black owned and i wanna support the staff. Only 1 waitress . Pro. Wont go again.

The atmosphere was great! They had great music. The staff were very welcoming. I would rate this place higher but after waiting 45 mins to an hour to get our food, it was room temperature. The alcohol beverages were okay, I just wish that most of the options did not include Hennessy in the drink.

Normally, I don’t leave reviews and I’ve came to this place several times with my family and we absolutely enjoyed it but this particular time they were very busy it took maybe 30 minutes to be seated we were greeted by a young man or a young lady not really sure from the time we were sat in the corner with menus and water shortly after feeling forced to hurry in order even when our food came out, we felt like we were forced to take to go boxes when it came time to get the check and pay the bill. The waitress, or waiter said something so disrespectful it offended our whole table
my mother gave her a look like excuse me😢😢 what she said next made us never want to come in there again if anybody has the managers phone number please leave it so I can contact them i’ve tried several times to call the restaurant phone number and I can never get through and once again I’ve never had any other problems up until this

First time for us, we are from Sacramento. Just because I did not give all fives does not mean I disliked it. On the contrary, we will return. I need to try those oxtails.
