Cool atmosphere, the staff is nice, the food is good and the drinks are the bomb! On given days they have karaoke and live music. Overall I would highly recommend especially if you're looking for a soul food spot.

Furst tike there and glad I went. Excellent food! Could use more staff in the kitchen and on the tables, but overall, great experience. I will be back.

The food was incredible, the place was perfect for the event. However the bartender felt overwhelmed and was giving out a bad attitude. Got a little uncomfortable for a couple of ladies when he slammed down a glass or two. The other came by and asked us to place our drink orders with the waitress only. I highly recommend this place but beware of the bartender.

The BEST soul food ive had since moving to The Bay Area. EVERY other place ive tried has been horrible, for real. So, when Kecia asked when i was coming i was very skeptical.
They absolutely crushed it! We had smothered porkchops, greens, and mac n cheese and Fish n Grits. Very well seasoned, greens were cooked like back home (Texas), mac n cheese was hot and cheesy, good cornbread, creamy and savory grits.

Oh and the drinks! Great selection!

Really good side items, probably the best soul food sides I've had since leaving the south. The chicken was alright, the fish was pretty good. Was disappointed to hear that the Ox Tails weren't on the menu. I'll go back though.

While visiting Oakland I heard about this restaurant and had to go. Everyone there was warm and welcoming, especially the owner/chef Kecia. Thanks for sharing your stories and journey on how Rob Bens came to be. But getting to the best part Kecia feed my soul. The food was so delicious I had the Yams, Fried Chicken and GREEN BEANS. Don't sleep on those green beans had to order extra to go. I'm from the soul but she gave was a run for our money ?. There was a sitting of Marcus Peter's while I was there. Always good to see talent in the building but many Thanks again for the West Coast Hospitality and Wonderful Food! My Soul was truly blessed to experience this place and the people in this establishment. ??
