The staff was very nice. The coffee was meh. Our group all got different drinks but all agreed they were more milky than coffee and minimal flavoring. It was hard to tell the difference between the mocha with cinnamon and spice, and the hazelnut latte.

Cool place with lots of tables. I didn’t like my single original cap though. It tasted a bit burnt.

Bestttt coffee ever. I live in CO but come to Encinitas often and I dream of bird rocks amazing flat whites & caps. My husband is a huge coffee snob and he’s slowly turned me into one as well and everywhere we go we compare to bird rock.

Hit or miss. Just got a terrible latte but usually the coffees are good. Just depends on the staff that day I guess. There are better coffee shops in town.

Ordered a couple hot lattes and two breakfast sandwiches to go on our way to Disneyland and when we took our first bites in the car, the sausage patty in the breakfast sandwich was cold on both of them, ended up throwing them away :( the coffees were kinda warm but not hot. I guess you can order them to be extra hot but they could have make them a bit hotter than it was. Overall, a chill place with good coffee. I would just make sure they heat up my food well before consuming it.

Tucked right off the main street, this spot has a super cozy feel. There are only a couple of indoor tables, but tons of outdoor seating, making it a great place to study or work. The small fountain adds to the chill vibe. I ordered a latte (which was just average) and a bagel with cream cheese. The food and drink came out quickly, but the ordering process was unnecessarily slow—despite having three baristas, the line moved at a crawl. I’d come back for the ambiance, but not for the service.
Coffee had a funky taste to it like a cleaning product had remained in the brewing machine or something.

Bird Rock Encinitas is hands-down our favorite coffee shop—truly the best coffee we’ve ever had! My husband and I used to live in California, and when we came back to visit, this was the very first stop we wanted to make. The quality of the coffee is unmatched, but what really makes Bird Rock special is the people.
Julian, the manager, is an incredible human being—he has such a gift for making people feel welcome, and seeing him always makes our day brighter. His whole team reflects that same kindness and warmth, creating such a positive and uplifting atmosphere.
Starting the morning here isn’t just about great coffee (though it’s exceptional!); it’s about starting the day with great humans. We can’t recommend Bird Rock Encinitas enough.
