One of my absolute favorites in Encinitas area. The food is so so good! They don't take reservations and there is usually a longer line to be seated for dinner.

I’ve eaten here tons because it’s not just delicious Thai food. It’s truly healthy. Grass fed beef, real bone broth, organic ingredients.
You leave feeling amazing

Waited close to 2 hours for food. Watched multiple tables get sat, order; eat and leave while we sat there.
Not coming back.

I have been a very loyal Birdseye customer for the past year. I eat there so frequently that it’s a running joke at my office when people ask me where I want to eat, or what i am eating. “What you eating, Birdseye?
The food and service were always so good + consistent, but some time within the last few months, the service and food quality have seriously declined, and my last 6 or so experiences there have been disappointing.
Food portions have become smaller, and the protein serving size is laughable. Ordered a curry dish and it was like 1-2 oz of beef (which is $3 extra) in my $22 dish. Really just green beans and curry sauce. When I pointed this out, they brought it back with a teeny tiny smidge more.
At that point I’m over it, and just want to get out of there without any friction. Hoping mgmt sees this review and corrects because I’m definitely never eating here again unless I catch wind that things have changed.

The food is wonderful. The people are nice. It’s the wait times that are sooooo bad. Quoted an hour wait when ordering online. Sitting at the bar, now another 20 minutes with a promise of 10 more minutes.
This is a Management issue. Know the timing of your kitchen. Control the online orders or send a text for delays. Communicate.
Doesn’t matter how wonderful the food is if people can’t count on when to up. Mgmt should have a clue by now and get this figured out.
Oh…and check your order before you leave. We’ve been shorted a couple of times.

I don’t get the hype. The food’s decent but never consistent — it tastes different every time. The atmosphere’s great, but service is awful. Servers rarely check in, and we’ve had to call others just to get water. After a few tries, I’m done coming back.

I’m a local resident and regular customer at Birdseye, and I want to share this feedback directly with the owner and staff. The food is excellent — truly the reason the place stays so busy — but the service has consistently been disappointing.
It’s become something I hear often in the community: people love the food but feel let down by the overall experience. I find it hard to keep supporting the restaurant despite wanting to.
The quality of service issues seem to go beyond individual employees and reflect a larger management problem. Service is often slow, inconsistent, and dismissive. It’s unclear who your server is, and when there’s an issue — whether with the food or a need you'll find your food getting cold while you wait. I’ve been charged for items I didn’t receive, told I couldn’t modify a dish for an allergy because of a “one modification max” rule, and even charged extra for basic add-ons like limes for a $25 soup.
Most disappointing, though, is the attitude. The lack of care and service doesn’t reflect the quality of the food.

Hard pass. Went on a Friday night with friends and I ordered pad thai. The pad thai was clearly bottom of the barrel as it was overly charred (nearly black), very little noodles and not much flavor. Waiter never came by to ask how the food was. The white Negroni was good but otherwise, food and service were awful.

We absolutely love Birdseye Kitchen! The imperial rolls are some of the best around — crispy, fresh, and full of flavor. The chicken pho is a must-try; the broth is rich and comforting, and the portions are generous. Every time we visit, the service is excellent — friendly, attentive, and fast. The restaurant has a warm and relaxed vibe that makes it perfect for both lunch and dinner. Definitely one of our favorite local spots, and we can’t wait to come back!

My family and I have been coming here once a week for some time now… always seems to be one issue or another but we’ve kept returning because it does have great atmosphere. Tonight I ordered a dish that I must’ve ordered 10x before… I never send a dish back, but the portion was a fraction of what it normally is, so when asked by the server how our meal was I was honest. The server came back to share the ‘owner’ would not serve another helping or discount the dish. Granted this was an entree tofu dish charged at $17! It was such an awkward exchange (not the servers fault as the messenger), but it ruined our dinner. I left feeling angry and hungry. I do wish I’d taken a photo of this dish… serving size for an ‘entree’ was pathetic and I’ve never experienced anything like this situation… in fact this is my first ever negative review on Google.

Fun decor and vibe. Really nice servers. The stir fry I ordered was more like a curry, soaked in an overwhelmingly salty sauce. The grass fed beef however was still tender and veggies fresh.

Been trying to go to this place for weeks and there’s always a line and I found out why there’s a line because the food is the best North County for Asian food, reasonably priced and good vibes

Absolutely outstanding - best Thai food we’ve had outside of Thailand. Noodles had that elusive awesome wok hay flavor (I know that’s a Chinese concept but not sure how to describe the Thai equivalent). Our server was super friendly and efficient- food came out lightning fast. We ordered the fried eggplant, the basil stir fry with beef, and the Chow Fun with tofu. Only wish we had more people in our party so we could try more things.
