Rolls somewhat dry and bland, just felt like eating rice with other flavors an after thought. Also little annoying things like barely filling my ponzu ramekin, dried out old ginger, and the eel roll being rice outside eel inside with not enough eel sauce. The woman serving us was loud and not polite. Also they charge a $2.95 credit card surcharge and I didn’t see that policy listed anywhere.

I do not feel the meal we received was a decent value for $90, and will not come back here.

Very nice japanese restaurant with a great variety of food and drink. The chefs are japanese and the food is authentic. I set at the bar and enjoyed not just the superb food but also the conversation with one of the chef. The crew is extremely nice. A bit pricy but not outstandingly for a good restaurant in Carlsbad.

Parking: The place is located in a shopping center with shared parking (plenty of parking places).

We were in Encinitas for a beach day and wanted to celebrate my husband’s birthday with some sushi or sashimi. We found Blue Fin via google search and decided to stop by. The atmosphere is warm, calm, and very inviting with some great Jazz and Funk music playing. Our order was comprised entirely of sashimi. We got 8 different orders of the 5 pieces of sashimi. Every dish was delicious! The fish was so fresh with incredible flavor. Hard to choose a favorite of what we had, but I really enjoyed the Maguro Tataki and salmon carpaccio. The service was also excellent. We will definitely be coming back here when in Encinitas

Blue Fin is the best sushi restaurant in the North county of San Diego. From the warm greetings to the delicious traditional desserts, and every delicious bite in between, the service and atmosphere are exquisite. I can't live without their Japanese Burrito. The Sumo. Seafood Salad is simply the best. Sashimi portions are generous and everything is F.R.E.S.H. Black sesame pudding is my favorite dessert. I always leave Blue Fin thanking them for another great meal and smiling ear to ear.

Came in particularly hungry with zero knowledge going in. Chefs were amazing and the staff were so nice!! The chefs prepared a Japanese burrito and gave it to us free of charge, and even gave us a Goma pudding as well. HIGHLY recommend the Japanese burrito, Goma pudding, and Bluefin Roll. Thank you BlueFin!
