Love The Chart House for Sunday brunch. We were a party of five. Our server, Kathy, was excellent. She was personable, knowledgeable, efficient, and kind. We all loved the food and the view. The restaurant is immaculate. The prices for the quality of food, service and view can't be beat in today's dining scene. We did not feel rushed at all. It is unbelievable that valet does not charge for parking. You just leave a tip if you wish to. We are already planning to meet at the Chart House again soon.
As always, which explains why we are there monthly, the service ambience quality of the food in overall atmosphere is always excellent. We had the pleasure of our server Caitlin providing excellent service, follow up throughout the meal and an overall very welcoming and appreciative demeanor. We had crab legs, lobster bisque, and the famous molten chocolate dessert. Everything was excellent and we're looking forward to our next visit. Thanks for the great dinner Chart House. On a sidenote, it's great to have valet parking offered at no charge other than a tip for the guys working it.
Made the reservation with OT. We arrived on time. I asked the hostess if we could be seated next to the window at an available table. She seated us at a table of 6 when we were a party of two across from the window. When I asked if we could have the corner table ( for 6) next to the window she said, “no” because it's reserved for a larger party of 6! WHAT ??? Seriously! Restaurant was not too busy at 2:00 PM. Service subpar. Took forever to get our cocktails, water glasses left empty, and soup arrived lukewarm. As frequent diners of the Landry Chain, we expected better service.
Unfortunately, our food was bland and cold- all main dish food that was brought to the table When we asked it to be returned it came back like it was heated up in a microwave and was flavorless and chewy. On the opposite end of the spectrum our waitress was AMAZING and personal and so fabulous despite ALL the misfortunate issues with the food. Her name was Wendi. Despite sitting by the window with an amazing view and having a wonderful server, I will not be returning to this restaurant in the future.
We dine here frequently. One of the best views in San Diego. Great food. Great service. Never disappoints.
Had the prime rib medium rare and came rare!!! We did not ask to have it redone so our fault
Ambience and service was excellent, I started out with the clam chowder and it was a little lemony for me. For the main entree I had surf and turf, I asked for medium rare and got medium, the meat was very tender though, I finished off with key lime pie that was very tart. Wasn't a bad meal but I have had better.
Manager was checking on us and working hard to keep things flowing. As usual, our servers were stellar! Started with a pleasant server named Robert. Ended up with Chaise who is always attentive. Geo always makes us delectable cocktails. That's why I'm always coming back to Chart House. Thank you!!
It was a bit crazy on Easter Sunday, but that's to be expected. Had a great time.
Location and proximity is beautiful, except we are having the worst fog which ruined the view this time ? hostesses are a joke, seem entitled and rude. Actual servers are great and provide good service. Food: herb roasted salmon was delish. Prime rib was too rare, almost like it was still alive. Great option for special occasions. Also didn’t love the fact that it’s forced valet parking for an already pricey dining option ?

Rude and vulgar staff, outdated chain restaurant pretending to be local fine dining.
Valet parks customer vehicles illegally in the bike lane of the highway.

I give Chart House 4/5 stars. The major detractor here is the atmosphere and aesthetic—everything is monochromatic and feels super old-school, giving the place a vibe of an elderly folks home. The oceanfront view is good, but that goes without mentioning.
The service is great—our waitress was a blonde woman at about noon on Friday, October 4th. She was a very cheery person who was welcoming, bantered with us, and was really on her refill game! Props to her!
The food, however, also left something to be desired. While it’s true we didn’t sample their steaks or seafood dishes, our orders were just so-so, especially at the price point they’re sold at. The herb-roasted chicken was decent, though slightly dry. The salads were, well, basic salads. The clam chowder and lobster bisque were both decent, though the bisque was quite rich.
I’m not sure I’ll be back here—the vibe is definitely old-guard Solana Beach/Del Mar. It’s not a very lively spot, and the food is kind of “ehh” and a bit pricey for what it is.

Went here during restaurant week with a friend. I got the stuffed shrimp with crab and the Caesar salad plus sorbet for dessert. The restaurant was packed and you would have to find parking on the side street unless you want valet.
