I'm extremely disappointed with my recent order of the Himalayan salad from this restaurant. Despite the menu listing cucumber, carrot, and tomatoes, my box was filled with spinach instead. The dressing was also unappetizing. The experience was not only a waste of my money and energy but also left a sour taste, highlighting the disconnect between their fancy menu names and actual quality.

BEWARE, RATS!!! l've been here a couple of times because we liked the food, but we will NEVER come back. As we were getting up from our table to pay, I saw a GIANT RAT run across the floor of the dining area. Someone else saw as well and told the employee, the employee was unbothered and didn't even apologize, he just pretended to look at the floor and try to look for it. He didn't offer us any apology, discount, or anything. I left feeling disgusted and nauseous, nearly ready to vomit. I wish I would have seen the rat before eating so we could have left. I'm praying I don't get food poisoning. Not to mention the food and service were extremely below average, there is nothing to be missed about this place. There are plenty of decent Indian restaurants, find a clean one!

Ordered from this place last night through DoorDash. Portions are generous, that is honestly the only good thing I can say about their food. Our chicken tikka was dry, bland, there was nothing Indian about it, it was basically large pieces of chicken breast barbecued to a crisp, with no Indian spices taste whatsoever. The shrimp tandoori was not quite as bad, you could taste a hint of tandoori, but once again the dish was way overcooked and the shrimp were bone dry. Not authentic and barely edible, frankly.

Don't be in a rush to scale this Himalayan venue. They take their time but deliver authentic food.

Don’t bother ordering take out food from here. Service was incredibly slow. A dozen of people waiting over 1 hour for food. The restaurant empty. They need to hire more people in the kitchen.

Great gluten-free meals are consistently flavored from dish to dish.

Try the Nawaratan Korma, vegetable coconut curry, absolutely incredible. Medium heat rated at 5 is spicier than other local ratings.

Our second entree, Lamb Tikka Masala, was equally good and we cut the spice rating to 3 and it was nicer. Again, incredible flavor and a great portion size.

Indoor seating is nice when there is a breeze, but sit outside of the weather allows, the sunset views are relaxing.

Always love their paneer tikka masala gravy, and their badami naan is so unique (bit sweet with nuts and a cherry filling, a must-try but hard to eat a lot). The lamb curry sauce had a very interesting flavor profile as well, and my friends seemed to enjoy the meat.

Vegetarian options: Lots of paneer dishes as well as other classic Indian vegetarian food

Overall, this is an ok place. The servers are nice but this restaurant is quite simple in ambiance, food, and the experience in general. We had called ahead to reserve a table for 6 but I think we would have gotten seated quickly even without the reservation.

We ordered the Chicken Achari, Lamb Saag, Chilly Shrimp, Nawratan Korma, rotis, garlic cilantro naan, garlic herbal naan and a plain naan. First, the portions are quite small, so I would recommend getting more curries if you are a larger group and planning to share. The best of the lot was the Lamb Saag. The Saag was delicious and the lamb was not too chewy. The Chilly Shrimp was disappointing because the shrimp has not soaked in any of the chilly-veggi sauce and it felt like a tandoori dish rather than an entree. The Chicken Achari was ok but I would've liked a more flavored taste profile. The Nawratan Korma was very sweet, even for being Nawratan Korma. Among the breads, the garlic cilantro naan is the typical garlic naan and it was fluffy and buttery. I would've liked way more garlic than it had. The garlic herbal naan was actually very dry and thin, which took away from its herbal flavor. The plain naans and rotis were fine. We got a large pot of white rice for the table with the entrees, which we ultimately took home.

The price tag on the meal was $100. I don't know that this meal flavor profile was really worth that much. I guess Encinitas means there is a certain price tag associated with even mediocre restaurants.

All in all, we had a good experience as far as the staff and being able to spend time with friends over food, but the food itself could've been better.

Nice place in great location. Friendly service. Food tasted great specially the Lamb Bryani. Kids loved the chicken Tikka masala. My only minor complain is that they used cleaning detergent with strong scent while we were having our lunch.
