Amazing experience! Such a cool fun vibe with a live band on Thursdays and beautiful ambiance, especially at night! We got the lobster bao buns, the noodles, tuna sashimi, and cucumber salad. all INCREDIBLE! service was also perfect with everything coming out very fast. Drinks also were great- highly recommend the pina colada styled drink! Will be back for sure!

Our server AYESHA was constantly hovering - she came by like 10 times in 40-ish minutes. It felt super fake, like she was either trying to rush us out or get us to order more stuff. This was especially weird since there were plenty of open tables and we were still working on the food and drinks we'd already ordered.
This place is trying way too hard to be fancy, but the food and drinks are just okay. Good service can make up for a lot, but that definitely wasn't happening here.
Would suggest checking out some other places on the street!!

Sago was amazing! The vibes were beautiful like stepping into a lush jungle oasis. The food was delicious (the chicken caviar was my absolute fav!) and the drinks were the best!! Definitely recommend this restaurant for a romantic date night or a fun evening out with the girls!

Sago is an absolute gem in Encinitas! Everything from the atmosphere to the service to the food is top notch. The space has a clean, coastal vibe that feels both relaxed and elevated—perfect for a date night!
Our group split everything family style, so we got to try a ton of dishes! My favorite was the wagu skewers, they were insanely good—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully plated. The staff was super friendly and knowledgeable, and the whole experience just felt thoughtful and intentional.
Definitely one of my new favorite spots in North County. Can’t wait to come back!

My favorites: The No. 9 cocktail was hands-down my favorite. Caramelized pineapple, tequila, chili, coconut a tropical cocktail with sweet heat and rich flavor depth.
The hamachi ceviche and tuna tartare were absolute standouts - super fresh, beautifully plated, and full of unique flavor.
If you're into shareable plates, vibey ambiance, and beautifully crafted drinks this spot's worth a visit!

just awful, the food came out at completely different times, so one person would just have to watch the other eat, and you can't even talk because it's extremely noisy. We had to wait around 20 minutes to just get water, and the steak was overpriced and not good. Do not recommend

Place was incredibly loud. Wants to be a club, not a restaurant. False advertising on wagyu steak (wasn't even American wagyu.) Entrees came out thirty minutes apart, Nothing taken off the bill, nothing on the house, not even an apology. Avoid at all costs. So busy trying to be hip, they forget they're still in the service industry.
