Food is amazing! Everything we got was so so tasty. They also have a DJ, but the music is not that loud, so you can still talk to the other person.
Indeed, the portions are small, especially compared with the typical American portions, but they are so tasty, healthy, and unique. You should definitely try it if you are passing by.

Jenny was absolutely amazing! I hadn’t been here since forever ago when it was D street, and it’s def worth a visit. Food was on point, fresh and delicious. Jenny made sure we had everything we needed and the drinks were really well made. I’ll def be back! Can’t wait to share with my friends

Ambiance, large plants, and decor was exceptional. The live band, and low light made everything a very good experience. The food was very well plated and taste amazing, however.. The portions were what you would see on a top chef show. (Minimal).. like less than an appetizer.. lol. So don't come here to get your appetite satiated, because you're going to need about 200 bucks for bite size mini skewers.. If you're looking for a really unique place to hang before dinner with great music and atmosphere, and OK drinks.. This will do as a nice upscale lounge type..

The ambiance here is stunning—lush greenery and a clean, inviting space. I was really excited to visit, and while we had reservations, no one greeted us upon arrival. We sorted it out ourselves at the bar, but it felt a bit off. The drinks were disappointing, and while the food was decent, the rice dish with lobster crumbles stood out. However, the experience took a turn when, in the middle of our conversation at 8:30, our server brought the check, explaining that they were closing early due to a slow night, despite Google Maps showing they are open until 11 p.m. We felt rushed, and if they plan to close early, they should either update their posted hours or avoid taking reservations for 7:30 p.m. Overall, some adjustments are needed if they want to maintain a positive customer experience

Loved the food, the atmosphere and the service! Went with a girlfriend to celebrate my birthday. Natalie helped us pick out amazing food. We had the lobster bao buns, the pork satay, the crab rice and the black cod. They were all delish, but the black cod was out of this world. Great drinks as well! Thank you Sago!
Natalie and other staff sure treated us nice after a long wondering Thursday night thru downtown Encinitas. Great energy, welcoming bartenders and comfortable seating. Music was finally not too loud and made it easy to have fun, relax and converse with friends. We ordered number 4,8, and 11 cocktails. Number 8 was sooooo yummy!!! (As pictured)

Sago is a breath of fresh air in the Encinitas nightlife scene. The decor is straight out of Bali/Tulum and creates a warm environment for a more upscale crowd. I tried the new menu they rolled out and all the dishes we were served were delicious. I came here with my girlfriend and her friends. They loved it. Great vibes and reasonable prices for the experience.

My 4 girlfriends and I went to Sago a few days ago and all of us had a wonderful time. We met Maya who made the most incredible cocktails. They were truly master pieces! The cocktail menu was so different and fun. The ambiance with all the plants was so refreshing so different and we loved it. The booth was so plush and comfortable! We didn’t feel like we were out of place here for our age at all (late 40’s and 50’s) but we did go earlier at 5:30 and it was really nice because the music wasn’t too loud and we could hear ourselves talk which is what our group always looks for in a restaurant. The food was so delicious. Every dish was so creatively done and deliciously thought out with its sides and garnishes so beautifully displayed. We didn’t feel it was over priced at all considering the expertise and care that went into every dish. We’ve definitely seen places that charge way more and weren’t as good. Half of us grew up in Encinitas and the other half have seen restaurants and clubs come and go in the last 30 years at this location and we all agreed that this one is a keeper!!! The menu is short and sweet and periodically changes which makes it a new fun surprise so we will definitely be back for more! Enjoy!
