We had never eaten here before today. The food was incredible. My husband ordered a beef burrito and I got the carne asada tacos. Warning! The burritos are HUGE. We loved our stay here!

This is an older restaurant that we have eaten at every time we come here to visit family. Our favorite is the tortilla soup. It's still as good as the first time I ate it. Over 30 years of consistency. Lots of new Mexican restaurants have sprung up in the last 10 years, and I've eaten at many, but the soup at El Norte has got them all beat.

An excellent casual family restaurant. The chicken rice soup is the best in San Diego county! The parking is restrictive and access difficult but worth the struggle!

I’ve seen this place from the road many times. And I’ve heard good things about it. But either I caught them on a bad night, or more likely, the idiots that have reviewed this place are from New Jersey. I ordered from the outside window. I ordered a carne asada burrito combo w enchilada. They added $3.45 to make it a carne asada burrito combo. When I got my food it was all cold. Since I didn’t wait very long for the food, it must have been cold already when they served it. This place is a tourist trap ripoff. You can get much better food, served hot, at the Robertos stand just up the street.
