We are Texas transplants into Cali and this is our fav place as we greatly miss Tex-Mex. The service is amazing and servers are always friendly. However, I will remove one star as they removed outside dining a few months ago. They lost something special, the view, by becoming yet another restaurant where you look at the parking lot while you eat. We can’t understand what’s behind this decision, but it killed one of the main reasons why enjoyed going and tolerated long waits (up to an hour) to get seated. Hope management reconsiders and gives back to this place something that made it unique.

The food is great!But the service has gone downhill over the last year or so. The employees look like they have a million better things to do other than answer a simple question about the menu or about the status of your order.The servers are VERY rude and slammed a plate of food down at our table after asking for our last item in large order after it took 10+ mins to arrive.Every time I come it always seems like they mess up the order as well. Missing a side, getting a carne asada taco rather than a chicken taco or just missing something totally even when it’s on the receipt.They also took away the “outdoor” seating not too long ago and it’s always crowded and tough to find a seat. Order takeout if you can.Sad!!

Cool Mexican joint with a beachy vibe! Stopped here around lunch time in March (so not a super warm day) but loved the openness of the restaurant. It would be awesome to come in here after a hot day at the beach.Their margaritas are superb! Loved their "house" marg. My wife had the Morning Marg and loved that too! We got some chips and the salsa bar. Very good to snack on. I wish we had time to have tasted their lunch fare! Maybe next time - but from what I could see other clients were having, it looked and smelled good!There's a ton of parking in their dirt lot off to the side and a little bit in front.

Las Olas has gone downhill big time. Basically no different than Taco Bell now. You have to order before you sit down which creates a long slow line at the door. It is expensive. A quesadilla, burrito, taco plate, and three premixed margaritas was more than $80. When you pay they ask you to choose between 25%, 20%, or 18% suggested tips. But there is ZERO service. Again there is ZERO service. Nobody gets a table for you, nobody brings water to table, no more complimentary chips and salsa, nobody checks on you, nobody clears plates when you are finished. Pretty much a very expensive Taco Bell now : (

order one thing and one thing only: the shrimp enchilada. absolutely no alternations cause we're grown adults and you can't risk messing up perfection. this elite enchilada haunts me and is second to none. sublime ratio of all ingredients -- one is enough to get you rowdy. byo salsa cup because the thimble sized plastic cups for sauce transport simply do not cut it. bummed about the outdoor seating -- however, not enough to keep me away from the enchilada.
