Great food, kind staff. The tapas are really tasty, perfect portions. We had the calamari strips and the chicken satay. Even the desserts are a stand out.

Great spot!! Lots of outdoor seating and awesome atmosphere. We just ordered tapas and had plenty of food to try and share. Really cozy spot with something for everyone. The poke nachos were great and so was the coconut shrimp. Great place to hang out and grab some drinks for a while.

Awesome food, had the chicken teriyaki bowl, and Shanghai ribs, both good size and delicious. Apparently a great English breakfast tea. Odd versions of well known songs was a quirky atmosphere. Great service and out group had a great meal.

Great cocktails, the martinis are on point, love the Wahini salad, the ravioli was delicious, the tacos were fantastic. Ian was a terrific waiter. Love this place for yummy grub and terrific drinks.

Regretfully experience was extremely unpleasant. We had a party of 5 traveling far to visit with each other and 1.5 hrs into our dinner were told we have 30 min before we need to leave for next reservation. This is absolutely unacceptable! Not ever have we heard of this and have been there several times before! We were offered a table inside (there is a reason I reserved outside patio because the music is too loud) or we had to leave! The manager was extremely unapologetic and we were told that's the restaurant industry. We've never heard of this. Lived in San Diego 30+ years! We're patrons too! I made mention that it wasn't stipulated at time of reservation or when we were seated. If that's so important there should be updates to the reservation system as well as being informed when seated. Regardless, we will not be back! And spread the word of our unpleasant experience! The manager should have a class in minding her manner! She had a complete attitude!
Whenever I'm visiting Encinitas it is a must to visit Papagayo. The food is excellent and the atmosphere gives off a great vibe. I love that this establishment has entertainment every night and the talent is superb. Great staff and management. Don't miss out," Hit up Papagayo Encinitas.

What's the purpose of having a reservation if we had to wait 15 minutes??? Once we sat we waited long to catch the attention of server, 10 minutes, and it took another 10 minutes for our drinks. Food wasn't great just ok. So overall in my opinion they are understaffed and good done in a hurry hence just ok.
