The Carlsbad location is very frustrating. The service is so bad and they treat you like you are a bother. We went on Sunday for brunch and made reservations but still had to wait 30min to sit and another 2 hours!! For food. Our waitress was so bad & didn’t check on us or let us know that the food would take that long. Never going back to this location and they should take advice from there Encinitas location because they are beyond amazing with there service and food comes out quickly

Suuuuper Overpriced for what you get. I had the steak frites and it was tiny steak cut and had a lot of sinew for $32. Drink prices were pretty high too for only ok quality. Other entrees and salad were good but again off the mark for the price. Very friendly and accommodating staff, awesome people. Live music was cool but super loud so if you wanna have dinner with the big music inside is the place to be, otherwise don’t sit inside…consider a table outside or in an area away from the band or you won’t even be able to talk to/hear one another.

Fantastic! Great place for an evening out with a group. Lots of seating indoors and outside with live music throughout. Really appreciate that the servers allowed us to hang out and didn't rush us out of the restaurant. Super tasty food and drinks. Will definitely return!

Not my first time here. It was pleasantly consistent with my last visit. Upscale trendy eatery. It was Friday night so there was music and it was very good soft rock and roll. We sat outside. It was cool but they had adequate heaters and even offered lap blankets for the ladies. The food was excellent. Everyone in our party of four was pleased with their meal. The service was attentive and friendly.

We chose La Papagayo to take a couple friend of ours from out of town to experience one of our favorite restaurants. It was a little chilly out, so they seated us in the main front Restaurant. They loved it! The service was wonderful, the food was delicious And the live music was playing but not too loud. Highly recommend!!

Ordered the mussels with chorizo. Initially the price did seem high, but the order came with two dozen mussels and a side of bread. It was great and left me regretting ordering dinner because it was so filling. Plenty of heaters on the patio and fire pits outdoors to keep you warm. The live music was a nice touch as well.
