Leucadia Pizza Encinitas

This is a great old fashioned pizzeria with a huge menu of pizza, calzone and beer.  They do have other foodd,  but I keep going back for the pizza.  On this occasion,  we tried an eggplant, roasted pepper and ricotta pizza;  as well as a Thai chicken pizza.  The first was simply delightful particularly with the eggplant (a classic in Italy) and the Thai pizza had peanut flavors galore.  The crust was crunchy on the outside,  soft and chewy on the inside -perfect.  I know we'll be back many more times.

I called and asked for a red sauce pizza and ordered a $25 medium margherita. When I got home I saw it did not have red sauce. Weird but should be an easy solution of replacing with the correct order. I called to see if this could be fixed. The person who answered offered zero solution and said “well now you know for next time”. Bummer, especially when charging $25 for a medium pizza

We are 60+ year old men, not homeless dirtbags.

This was my second visit, and I unfortunately had the same negative experience. Unlike the Rancho Santa Fe location, this place is a huge disappointment. The staff is just horrible—unfriendly and always more engaged in conversations with each other than with customers. I placed an order for takeout, but my 4-year-old daughter decided she wanted to eat there. Despite sitting down, the waitress never approached us, not even to ask if we wanted drinks. I get that she’s not interested in earning 20% on a $4 tab, but the whole atmosphere is unpleasant. I won’t be coming back. Cookies are worth the visit

I have been coming here for almost 20 years. Today I had the worst service I’ve had over those 20 years. Our server wouldn’t come in and check in on us. I had to get up and ask for extra napkins after being ignored. So our server still never came by and I once again had to get up on my own to ask for food to go The manager saw this. We still never had our server return as we needed boxes to go and had to ask a different person for them. Once our check came, the server never came around and I got up to go pay on my own. My children work in the service industry so I don't take it lightly to write a less than positive review, but the behavior won’t change unless something is said.

I've been coming to Leucadias every year when my family and I come out to visit San Diego every summer since 2015. The quality of food has consistently been great. Always served hot, fresh and quickly. I'll always take time out to visit when I'm in town. It's rare to find a restaurant like that, where you know you'll leave happy, and with fond memories. Pizza was absolutely fantastic. We ordered it and took it home.

The chicken barbecue was great and everyone (kids included) were happy as could be.

We also ordered a gift card, which was easy and convenient. The staff was friendly and prompt and the atmosphere was great!

The best restaurant I've been to in a long time. Excellent service, excellent food, reasonable prices.

And hallelujah, it actually exists: a restaurant that serves hot food. Every item was hot. Wow!

Tomato bisque soup was excellent. Shrimp on salad was excellent. Garlic bread was excellent.
We prefer our plain pizza crust a bit thinner and a bit more cheese, but really it was tasty and delicious and we ate the whole thing. The side of vegetables was a bit underdone.

The people sitting next to us had lasagna and veal parmesan which looked fantastic.

I can tell this is a well-managed restaurant. Everybody was working hard, including the bus boys.

We look forward to returning.
