This was the 2nd time I have had a lobster roll here & the food was not as good as the first time. The lobster was cold & the roll was warm. I probably should have sent it back for them to re-warm or something cos $30 for a sandwich is a lot but the guy who took our order & brought the food to us wasn't very friendly & I was afraid our food might be tampered with. I will try it again one more time to see how the food turns out. Hopefully 3rd times a charm. If not I will update my review

I stopped by here on my way to sd. It tasted amazing but wish they gave you more. There wasn’t much difference between boss and epic lobster roll. Might come back if I was peckish and en route to sd/la.

My shrimp roll tasted off, I couldn’t eat it. Soup was Luke warm and mediocre, odd texturally. Prices were high and skimpy meat portions on the rolls. So disappointed.
Tasteless, save your hard earned money, go to a seafood market, buy a frozen lobster tailt, run it under hot water and it's the same. The soups are equally disappointing. The crab soup is the least bad from the three options available. This is a self service and plastic ware place. No waiters to assist customers.

Can’t believe a single review in here. By far the most disgusting food that I tasted (and no, I am not exaggerating). Food overpriced, salty, bitter, oily. It takes lot of skills to make the food that bad.
The restaurant smells like burned butter and it’s filthy dirty. Customer service, absolutely not.
Not that they are busy or understaffed. Just doesn’t exist. But surely they charge you like a fine dining.
Do yourself a favor, respect your body and eat something good.

First- the lobster ROLL is soft, and grilled to perfection! There is a lot of Maine Lobster and their wonderful Tarragon Sauce makes it very tasty and elegant! We made an on-line order which was easy to accomplish and ready in 10 minutes. I had an error in my email entry and requested assistance. It would be easy to tell me what to do but the proprietor/owner took an interest to assist and this was VERY kind and impressive. Mahalo Nui Loa! This lobster roll is #1 for me and a MUST TRY!

Our family was excited to try the lobster rolls. We often frequent various lobster roll spots throughout Southern California. Unfortunately these were by far the worst. There wasn’t much flavor to the lobster meat itself and the bread was a bit overpowering. We ordered cold and warm. The cold ones didn’t have much mayo to them. We also ordered the shrimp rolls and those were over peppered. The crab cake left a very strong after taste and the aioli was just terrible with no distinct flavor and gave “a lot of mayo”. The baked beans shouldn’t be in the menu they were watery and had no flavor whatsoever. I’m not sure how this spot gets 4+ star ratings but this was a grave disappointment compared. Definitely not worth $260 tab.

These rolls are addictive. You have to pay more to get the proper level of lobster but dang, it's good. Anytime a place talks Maine lobster and they aren't on the East Coast I automatically assume they are full of it. I can't speak to the sourcing veracity but I can speak to the flavor, which is great. Also, they are right on Coast Highway and the people watching is amazing. It's hilarious to watch San Diego County Sheriff's Deputies dress like soldiers and act like hard-ons when they pull people over here, which they do a lot of in this stretch of Encinitas. Trust me, go to this place.

Dog friendly with outside seating. We ordered two EPIC hot lobster rolls (Connecticut style, warm with butter) and although they were delicious, for the EPIC PRICE OF $39 PER ROLL, it was very skimpy compared to what you get for that price in New England. They stack it high in the middle and don’t fill the bun to the ends to make it look super full. It’s not. The New England clam chowder was great though.
The food was delicious and the service was great. Omid gave us great customer service and even provided us with coupons for our next visit. Thank you Omid!!!!!
