Modern Times Far West Lounge

I have been coming here for years, but I came in this week to find the 100% plant-based menu gone. They still have a few good options, so it’s still a decent spot; it just won’t be a destination spot anymore.

I was just looking for a place to drink sour beer. That's all. You can imagine my utter joy when I discovered this place not only has FIVE sours on draft but also a menu that is more than 50% vegan. I tried all of the sours. The standout for me was the blueberry muffin, which tastes exactly as described. At the recommendation of the bartender, I got the crunch wrap, which was absolutely delicious. I also made a friend with the woman sitting next to me and got to try the pretzel with queso and mustard (also completely vegan), and that was phenomenal. If I lived in the area, this would definitely be a regular hangout spot.

Really enjoyed the food at this place. I had the Cali Burrito which was absolutely delicious. Even my non-veg friend said it was amazing. Would highly recommend.

Still a great place for a beer, but Modern Times beers have been almost entirely been replaced by guest taps. Only the flagship beers remain at present, which is a bit disappointing.

Don’t order the burger!!! It is seriously the smallest Patti known to man. After I complained the server said he wouldn’t even recommend it. Then why didn’t he say something?? Paid $10 for a bun!

What's not to love! Fully vegan brewery and pub food. Yummy slider, chikn tender and fries. Can't wait to go back when in Encinitas again!

This place is the absolute best. Dogs allowed, drinks great, food is amazing - love that it’s all plant-based!!! 10/10

Great service. Popped in here on a whim and found they have a fully plant-based food menu. They also have a dedicated sheet with gluten/soy/coconut allergen information for the different components in each item. It was great for my wife that can't have soy/dairy right now. Even though almost all of their protein is soy based, she was able to eat some brussel sprouts and Mac n cheeze (violife).

Just the best. Food is A1 and beer is top shelf. Thank you, MT!

We've come here a couple of times for burgers and beer. The burgers are solid, the atmosphere is nice but casual, and it's in a great location.
