I visit occasionally…how come the baristas uniformly don’t announce your name when your coffee is ready? (or mumble it so low that it is inaudible). I always have to go up and ask which drink is mine among the sea of multiple cups on the counter. This is basic and poor customer service. I do think they make the best lattes and cappuccinos when compared to other large chains (for example “Charbucks”, which I won’t step foot into, noted for their burnt-bean harsh brewed coffee that needs to be decanted before consumption, and the lack of enough espresso in their lattes/cappuccinos. I generally get coffee to go at this Peet’s as I don’t care for the atmosphere inside—it has very dark walls, harsh glarey spotlights aimed directly down at many of the tables, and an ugly, gray, dirty stained concrete floor in desperate need of cleaning and/or refinishing. They do have a small but decent patio out front. A great place for decent coffee to go but not a place to linger in unless you’re into the internet workplace scene.

I came as mystery shopper to evaluate service and place.
All good except one coffee maker on a busy Sunday day.
Also, my request was very simple: double espresso. I saw her letting my sticker for order placed on the printer and people that came after having their drinks. 15 minutes for an espresso?! I think you should do better. Just adding a helper for this guy dedicated on busy days.

Spacious interior at this Peet’s and I love their Dark Roast Espresso and Heavy Cream! So hard to find those two items at the dance coffee shop (especially in the SD area). Fast, Friendly Baristas that know how to make Americano correct with the cream top! 👏 Quiet place to work or relax.
Small, tight, shared parking lot in a small strip mall. Definitely stop in for delicious coffee, other drinks, and yummy food options.

Prete's is all about the coffee! And it has the best in my opinion. I do wish they would have a few more options of things to eat. What they have is good but high caloric.

Always make it a point to stop when I'm in the area. They have delicious coffee. I don't usually get my coffee sweetened; my usual is traditional cappuccino or cold brew. But! If you're living for something sweet and comforting I do like their Havana cappuccino if I'm looking for a hot drink or a black tie. I'll not much into the sweet coffee drink so I ask to have the sweetness adjusted.
The staff is always delicious and Helpful when looking to try something new. This particular location is cozy and very inviting. Always clean and always welcoming!
If you're in the area, don't forget to visit Cordova Gardens down the street! They're a go to nursery with lots of indoor plans! Bring your coffee!

Encinitas, CA. Dang, this Peet’s is the best Peet’s I’ve ever been to. Excellent service, great latte, super vibe (jazz in the background, remote work, meet-ups), and even coffee art. In a mug. I’m blown away.

Heretofore I’ve not been impressed with Peet’s, perhaps because I visited locations where patrons trashed the place (in a mall; near a park; in a hotel).

But this Peet’s is in a class of its own.

Our new go to place, especially given Starbucks’ terrible track record on political matters and employee rights.

Best Coffee in San Diego. These guys know their stuff. Whenever I'm working in the area I ALWAYS make time to stop in for a Triple Cappuccino...... "Forget About It" ? ?☕ Matt is a true artist with that foam.

Peet's Coffee is the best! One star off on food because they discontinued the absolute best all-time scone, the lemon poppy seed scone, it had true scone texture and great flavor and was not slathered in icing. Unfortunately the remaining scones at least for me are all too sweet, chewy/doughy or too much icing, but friends who like things really sweet still love them. A little tiny feta and egg white quiche is surprisingly healthy and tasty if you like savory. They croissants are delicious, but pretty high cow and sweet for those of us watching calories. But it's all about the coffee, and Peet's Coffee is outstanding. Service is always great too, very friendly and the Baristas get to know you very quickly. It's my go-to coffee place in San Diego.

Vegetarian options: Almond, soy and oat milk available, most drinks can be non-dairy and or vegan without much problem
