We cater from here at least once a week. They people here are so kind and friendly. I love working with them to get large orders in to our employees. The food is always AMAZING! Never leftovers from this place. Definitely a company favorite. Thank you all!
The flavors of Peru that I dearly love, right in the heart of Encinitas. These something special about the bright flavors of Peruvian ceviche that are unmatched in other cuisine and Q'ero brings them beautifully. The Lomo Saltado was similarly savory. Topping it all, the Pisco Sour was the best I've ever tasted - so good I had to have two! Highly recommend.
This place is a true gem, I have bee coming here for 20 years and the food is phenomenal and so is the service.
They have the most amazing sauce I ever had, the PANQA sauce, I bought it and I use it on shrimp, vegetables, chicken and beef.
Their ceviche and their saltines are super good too.
OK, the same thing happened. We start thinking about a favorite Q'ero dish (calamari diablada, ají de gallina, papa rellena) and made a reservation to order just those. Then Patrick (who knows the story behind every dish) describes a special that we can't resist. So we end up ordering EVERYTHING, way too much food, and eat all of it anyway. In this case, the special was the new pope's favorite arroz con pato, duck leg confit with pan roasted breast on a beautiful herbed green rice. Yes, and we ordered some tres leches for desert too. No willpower I guess.
Once again it was amazing... defenetly will be coming back again
It’s been here for years and I never knew! Amazing little spot for Peruvian food.

My husband and I went here about a year and a half ago and it was really yummy. Meat was tender, portion size plentiful (I remember bringing home leftovers), menu had more options and wait staff friendly. Went last night for my birthday with my family, read the reviews before hand and chose to ignore them. Wish I hadn't. We walked up to hostess told her we had reservations for 5, didn't ask our name, pointed to a table and told us that it was ours. So we seated our selves without menus. It took about 5 minutes for anyone to come over to us. We were poured water that tasted like pure California tap water, like dirt, not even Britta filtered. The menu was very limited for options. The drink menu is by the bottle for wine with the exception of 3 wines that the waiter said was by the glass. I think during the whole night we saw our waiter 3 times. Never askedasked how was everything, never asked if needed more drinks wasn't friendly. Had to ask about non alcoholic options. Once we finally ordered food and it was delivered, the fair was meager. The meat(3 of us had the loma saltado) was thin sliced, very chewy and grisly. We all agreed on this. My husband had the empanadas which came out long before the table meals did and he finished before us. But he did say they were really good. Complemented on how filling these were. Unfortunately, I would not recommend this restaurant again. We were disappointed. I never write reviews usually just give my opinion if someone asks me.
Parking: Difficult to find near restaurant.

Came here with friends for dinner and had trouble getting seated initially. When we asked about the wait, we were told that it wasn't clear whether we could even leave our name to wait for a table which was unusual.
We sat and waited at the Roxy for the 30-45 min estimate we were given. When we did finally get a table, we didn't get a drink menu and no one came to check on us for 20 mins until we actually flagged someone down and asked if we could put in our drink order, at which point we got a drink menu.
Shortly after, we placed in our food order, some empanadas and a ceviche. They were out of the plantain chips at the time.
We waited another 30 mins for food while another walk in couple came, ordered, got their food and left as we still waited for our order.
When our food finally did come, it was good, but not good enough to make up for the poor service.
While the food was good, the experience was absolutely dismal and concerning for the outlook of this establishment. I hope they get their house in order soon.

Quality of food was below average. Tasted like the food was reheated.

The water did not taste good . The food portions were small. We ordered a side of yucca fries and it was tiny portion for $9. The tables were small and uncomfortable. Service was bad- ignored us for most part and it took forever to get a table though had plenty open. The waitress took the time to talk to us only when we were paying. Wouldn’t go back.

This used to be a ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ restaurant in my book. This incident happened over the summer, a Sunday in July. It was a forever favorite until my last trip. I flew in from Orlando, Florida with my boyfriend to visit my parents. Had reservations for weeks. Talked it my poor boyfriend was starving and craving the food he never tried. We get there, sit down, and were told they were literally out of almost everything on the menu. No sangria (ordered a pitcher) only 1 glass left that we could have. No Aji de gallina (my absolute favorite), no q’ero salad, no lomos saltido… everything we were going to order was named. I’m surprised weren’t called prior to showing up, called day before to confirm. Anyway, it was a favorite but will never go back after that. How do you not make sure to have enough food to last the entire weekend. Heard rumors it was going downhill and I believe them. Sorry Q’ero, I used to absolutely love your restaurant, parents gave you a ton of business (Rick Cohen is my father), and would request to go every time I flew in 2,400+ miles. The kicker, we were offered a play of 4 empanadas to go to make up for them not having anything. No offense I was hungry and needed a meal. We declined and had a good meal at another local establishment. Glad they could squeeze us in on a busy Sunday night
