You could just tell everything was super fresh. The manager was super accommodating as well. We have been a handful of times and will be back.Highly recommend the Nagri and a corner of the sushi bar.

I got the Hand Rolls (comes with 5 rolls... Shrimp, Spicy Tuna, Salmon, Scallops and Yellowtail) and each one was better than the last... super fresh... zero fishy smell... the Scallops was surprisingly my favorite. I've had bad scallops before and wasn't sure what to expect. But its absolutely delicious. They have 5 different sauces to add for dipping, just get them all they are excellent. Service was quick and friendly, I'll be back 100%

Very cool sushi spot off of the PCH in Encinitas. The menu is simple and the tastes are fresh and pure.

After walking by on a rainy Saturday, the girls and I decided to stop in for a late lunch.Right off the bat, the staff weren't the friendliest. Aside from telling us to sit wherever, they didn't say much. The restaurant is a full sushi bar with a few surrounding tables. I expected more interaction between the staff a patrons since we were all in close contact. At one point, I think the sushi chef's friend came in and sat a few seats away from me and they were loudly talking about nonsense. I wish their menu was a little more extensive when it comes to options. Same goes for their "drinks" menu. It's really just beer on tap and a few sake options. The menu only includes descriptions of items for their appetizers and a few of their rolls, nothing under their handrolls. This was difficult for me to pick my hand rolls. I went with the 3 handroll set. I enjoyed the salmon one the most, probably because it was pretty standard. The yellowtail was okay and I wasn't a fan of the shrimp. There was a may-o like sauce in either the yellowtail or shrimp that I didn't like. I usually stray away from creamy sauces. Had I known there was a creamy ingredient, I wouldn't have ordered it. Why I wish they had descriptions on their menu...Needless to say, the experience was so so.

Everything about this place was pretty much perfect. The music, the vibes, the dishwater were a vibe. The staff behind the bar was the most friendly staff which fun stories to share and good conversation to be had.The food was devious. The hand rolls were fish forward paired with own seasonings and garnish that really complimented the fish. Fairly priced for the experience. They even gave us fresh caught tuna to try on the house. Devious!I wish I didn't like 45 min with in San Diego otherwise this would be my daily happy hour spot for sure.

Out favorite sushi by place in the area by far! Love sitting at the bar counter watching the chefs do their magic on the handrolls. Handroll set is a must, but also love their cut rolls, crispy rice, bang bang shrimp appetizers and their weekly specials.

Came here for lunch and ordered the 4 hand roll combo with a Japanese lager to wash it down. The hand rolls are a good size and decent value. The only one that was notable was the yellowtail. The sauce on it is fantastic. The other three were ok.There are no tables and it's a bar setup with stools. That was a bit uncomfortable. Cool spot to check out for hand rolls.

Been coming here almost every other week since it opened. It's usually pretty good, but we noticed the taste and quality of food is pretty inconsistent depending on who makes it, and when we visit. The sauce for scallop handroll changes every time. Some times sweeter, some times not as sweet.Even though they use machines to make the cut rolls, the rolls were wrapped differently every time we go. This time we went, the roll was rolled too tightly which made the texture denser, and also had less flavor. (Not much seasoning?)This time I ordered same items twice which were made by different guys. Second one was seared less than the first one which changed the flavor and not arranged too well.I know they rely on machines to make rice, make rolls, make rice ball for sushis, but I think there still needs to be enough training to keep food quality consistent throughout the chiefs.

I love sushi and bars. By default, I love a bar concept when it comes to a sushi restaurant. There is a couple of hi tops besides the bar counters. But for the most part, the interior follows the traditional bar design - perfect for a casual hangout for a small group of friends or a cute date night. I came in a rainy night, so it was not too packed. My friend found two spots at the bar with ease. Upon seating, we were greeted by a lovely server. She let us have a look at the menu before ordering. Not too long after, a chef introduced himself and said that he will be taking care of us. The experience was similar to that of a bar: instead of watching a bartender makes drinks, we watched a chef hand rolled our sushi. We could stay there for as long as we want and order whenever we would want to. Service was friendly and fast. Moving onto the food, we started with a set of tempuras. I love the variety of vegetables, especially the sweet potato. Nice and crispy texture throughout paired with tentsuyu. My friend ordered a set of hand rolls and different nigiris - fresh and delicious. I also tried the special roll that came with edible firecrackers - it was okay and mostly gimmicky. Luckily, the West Philly roll redeemed it.Would definitely come back for their hand rolls and nigiri :)
