I made reservations at this restaurant based on the high ratings and reviews. We are frequent Del Mar and Solana Beach visitors, and we are constantly trying new restaurants in the area. I was excited to try this place, what a disappointment. We arrived on time, were seated within a few minutes. Our server came to the table with bread and marinara, and asked if we wanted water- “yes” we replied. He brought a pitcher of water, and super aggressively poured it into our cups. We don’t want ice in our water but we didn’t really have a choice, he continued to pour it after we asked for no ice. He spilled the water all over the table, into the marina and bread plate, onto my husband’s hands and sleeves! And walked away. I got up and took the plate of bread and sauce and gave it to him by the kitchen and told him “ you spilled water all over the plate and the table” he took the plate and a few minutes later brought back the same exact plate I gave to him- with water all over it! I couldn’t believe it, we took our coats and left. Horrible service and horrible attitude. Not a single person from the front of the house approached us as we were leaving, they all saw us leave, made eye contact with us- one even smiling! Train your staff better, you are in the service industry. Your quality of food can only take you so far, if it’s even that good. Comments form my 9 YO son, “This waiter was a bad experience. So if you have reservations here, let this be a warning ⚠️.”

Great, quality food. But, the noise levels are not for everyone. If you want to be able to hear your guest, let alone yourself think, sit outside on the weekend.

The best Italian in San Diego. The food is incredible every time. Simple but fresh ingredients are highlighted in every dish. The service, especially our server Mallory, is warm & welcoming & does an excellent job navigating the dining area & making every guest feel welcome. Service is quick & smooth with each person from hostess to servers doing an seamless job. The ambiance is cozy & inviting, providing the perfect back drop for any occasion. Overall, I cannot recommend it enough.

Reservations is highly recommended. Small place so the tables feel very close to each other. Parking is slim so you might be looking around for a bit. Walking distance though to just about any area you find.

Service is great and very attentive.

I had the Lobster Ravioli and it was good. I didnt like that it mentioned chopped tomatoes on the menu, but I received 3 cubes, about what you would see on a single taco. Still a great pasta entree.

The NY Cheesecake on the other hand is garbage. First bite tasted like cardboard. Not a metaphor... Like i just licked an unused pizza box.

Not a bad place at all, I would have an open mind on what you receive vs. whats on the menu.

The care taken in each of these dishes definitely shows. The service is friendly and very accommodating for specific dietary needs and restrictions.

This time around I tried the gluten free gnocchi that had a cauliflower base. It was absolutely delicious. Before this I've only ever had regular gnocchi, but this gluten free version did NOT disappoint. Great texture and flavor with the steak bites and reduction sauce. Hubby had the lobster ravioli... That saffron sauce was spectacularly delicate and creamy. Can we make a gluten free version of that ravioli possibly? Or does it exist...? I probably should've asked. ?

We'll be back! Thanks to the staff for making our visit so enjoyable!

Vegetarian options: They had plenty of options throughout the menu and are incredibly accommodating.

Dietary restrictions: I needed gluten free options which they were able to accommodate. Plenty of options for that, just let them know at the start and they'll guide you through the menu.

Parking: Plenty of spaces on the street around the block. Had no trouble and it was a Saturday evening too.
