Great menu choices. Chefs are top notch. Music and the vibe are fun. Patio dining if that’s your thing. About 10 seats at the sushi bar. Service is great.

Sushi rolls were average. Corkage high at $25; otherwise the only wine was from Solterra next door. Probably some good sake. Super friendly staff. Really enjoyed the live music on Tuesday.

I needed a custom cake and called around San Diego, but all of the bakers said they didn’t have enough time. I texted Veronica and got a response in a short amount of time saying that she could do the cake of the photo I sent her. She delivered it to my house, and the cake was amazing. It even looked better than the picture I sent her. The cake was delicious! It tasted as good as it looked. Thank you, Veronica!

Kai Ola just keeps getting better and better. Their menu is somewhat "limited" and the dining area is boutique small. Which makes the vibe in there lively and fun. They do have a sushi bar - but if you think you'll order more than just sushi, I'd recommend grabbing a little table/booth. Our suggestions for appetizers are: Edamame (but the garlic/butter one vs. the sweet & spicy one. The sweet & spicy one is oily - but if you like Thai oils then you might like better.) Hamachi or Salmon Kama Lobster Delight (great flavor - great appetizer to share) Shishito Peppers Their Plates, Salads & Poke Bowls are not huge - but they certainly are ample to be filling. Try either their teriyaki or katsu chicken. All of their salads & bowls are very good. When it comes to Noodles - the Hangover is a popular weekend late breakfast or early lunch! Sushi. Excellent flavor combinations. Our favorites are: Beacon's, Grandview and Sunset Rolls. You cannot go wrong with those and if you want something removed from the roll, just ask. They are very accommodating. Lastly, do yourself a favor and order a side of their sticky rice. It's just a scoop, but it is very very good. Prices are a bit on the higher side, but the quality is on point. They are also great at to-go orders, so if you'd rather grab it to-go, they do a good job! Enjoy!

This place has rave reviews on Yelp, so I was expecting a bit higher quality. Had salmon and hamachi toro nigiri with a tempura appetizer. The salmon was obviously farmed; it was good but not exceptional. The watermelon green tea is a winner. Service was good and they distanced tables for COVID_19 protocols. As long as you're expectations are not too high, this will do. Bill was $30ish for one person.
