The pros : very good mocha latte. Nicely made drink. Great location with an ocean view. Cons: the staff are consistently unsmiling and lacking any personality, the drinks only come in one size— not big enough. So, if you are in the area and want a nice ocean view with your great drink, ( that will leave you wanting more) , and you are in a non communicative mood ~ this is your place.
Excellent coffee shop. People are very friendly and welcoming

Go to coffee for me. They make a true espresso that an aficionado would love
I loved around here for a couple of years and would come often, not because of convenience, but because the coffee drinks were consistently great. Staff here is pretty awesome, friendly, and even made effort to get to know you if you come here often. They do not have a "rewards program" but every once in a while, they'll give a free drink or two. Nice beach views. Highly recommend this spot for the coffee and welcoming environment.
Cool little shop in a cool little area. Coffee was nice, decor was awesome.Staff were straight to business. No nonsense when ordering.
Delicious coffee and amazing staff.
Great quality coffee and terrific blends. Their cold brew is also fantastic. Hummingbird and El Munro blends are my favorites so I use them at home in my espresso machine too! Do yourself a favor and stop by for some good coffee. I recommend walking over as the parking is very limited in front of the shop.
Great vibe, latte art is made beautifully! The hummingbird coffee beans is great for espresso with milk!
DO NOT GET THE CHAI!! My girlfriend and I are big fans of chai. We make it at home (hot & cold; from scratch and with mixes) and are constantly trying to find new shops that make a good masala chai. This chai was a failed attempt... big time. First of all, it was a dingy grey color and tasted like dirt-water with cloves ($10 for two dirt-waters?). They should stick to their strengths... small-batch coffee... We returned it immediately (though i cant be sure thats good, since i havent tried it). No amount of any ingredient could save that. Overall: Terrible Chai, Dismal pastry (or anything else) offerings, PITA to get to... save your time and money. At least they were nice about the refund.
I’m gonna give it 5 stars for the almond milk latte. Still a strong coffee flavor but so smooth and creamy with a great portion of almond milk. I also tried the double espresso and would give it 4 stars. Efficient service. I’ll definitely come back for the latte. Also cute little shop. Not much seating indoors if you are looking for that.

Awesome!
Delicious French Press coffee, Blueberry Muffins and Cranberry Scone! However, staff are unfriendly. Thus, a 4 star.
Best coffee in San Diego and this location is a lot nicer, by the beach
IMO Zumbar consistently has one of the best cappuccinos in San Diego (this location and their Sorrento Valley cafe). Really smooth and robust espresso, rich foam, often a nice, artful presentation. I'm kinda into comparing cappuccinos all around San Diego and Zumbar has never disappointed me!
Coffee is excellent, but it's a very limited selection.
