I attended Tehran Cabaret on Yalda Night with my boyfriend to see Martik perform. It was my first time there — and unfortunately, it will be my last.
From the very moment we entered, we were treated with clear disrespect by a man who appeared to be part of the management. No greeting, no “welcome,” not even a simple acknowledgment of Yalda Night. The attitude was cold, dismissive, and unprofessional, which was extremely disappointing—especially in a venue representing Iranian culture and hospitality.
What made the experience more frustrating was the contrast: the servers were absolutely wonderful. Polite, kind, and genuinely trying their best to make guests feel comfortable and happy. They truly deserved better leadership.
I stayed only out of respect for my partner and the performance, but first impressions matter. A venue can have great artists and staff, but poor management behavior can easily ruin the entire experience.
Unfortunately, that was the case here.

I had a mostly enjoyable night last Saturday at this restaurant. The ambiance was great, and the live music was a real highlight—Shamaizadeh was absolutely perfect and made the night memorable.
However, I had a disappointing experience with the wine. I asked for a $40 Chardonnay listed on the menu, but the waitress told me it was an old menu and only more expensive options were available: $79, $89, and $100. I decided to go with the $100 bottle. Later, I checked and found that the wine served was actually worth around $5 retail.
I understand restaurants mark up prices, but this felt excessive and unfair—especially when the wine list wasn't up to date. It left me feeling misled. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and updates their menu to reflect accurate offerings and pricing.

I had an extremely disappointing experience at this restaurant. While the ambiance was quite pleasant and inviting, the service was absolutely terrible. The staff was inattentive and unprofessional, which completely overshadowed any positive aspects of the environment. I would not recommend this place to anyone and definitely will not be returning.

Horrible service, rip-off, I would never go back. Food tasted awful. It is sad someone so talented like Shahbal would entertain there.

Cabaret Tehran is part of Iran’s history abroad and offers a fantastic night out with great entertainment and a lively atmosphere! The music and performances create an energetic and fun experience, making it a perfect spot for a memorable evening. The food was good, but, after changing their chef it is excellent now. One downside is the pricing on drinks—charging too much for water, tea, or other beverages feels excessive. the security at the door was unprofessional and needs to be educated. Despite these, the overall experience was enjoyable, and the service was attentive. If they adjust the drink prices and refine the menu a bit, it would be truly outstanding!

First and foremost, I’d like to extend my appreciation to Mansour and his band for delivering an outstanding performance. Their music truly elevated the evening.
The service and overall ambiance were also commendable. However, I was disappointed to find that the event details were not as advertised. The ticket was presented as including dinner, but in reality, nearly everything beyond basic access (air and restroom) came with an additional charge. Unfortunately, this kind of unexpected pricing is something I’ve encountered all too often with Persian-run events and businesses.
Transparency is important to me, and I prefer experiences where expectations match reality. Regarding the meal, I chose the trout, which was part of the advertised package. The portion was surprisingly small—more suited for a child—and lacked the quality and value expected, especially in comparison to other available options.
Honesty and clear communication go a long way. I hope the organizers consider this feedback for future events.

Everything was fine, and even the food tasted good, but the value for the price we were charged was very low. Every time we go there, they change the portion sizes or food value—it’s ridiculous. They also place all the chairs too close to each other, leaving no personal space. It’s so cramped that you could easily end up putting your spoon in someone else’s plate—just imagine that!
But still better than nothing.

Great little spot, love Persian food! If you've never had it before give it a shot. It's more approachable than you might think. The green rice woth the lima beans is my favorite, all the meats are choice, and gimeh on tadig is so good I've had it as my main course instead of an appetizer 😂
Definitely worth checking out, or fir a date night. Especially if your dating a Persian 😏

“Last night felt like stepping into a time capsule wrapped in velvet and nostalgia. We spent the evening at cabaret Tehran. The singer we grew up loving, whose songs played in the background of our most unforgettable memories — first loves, heartbreaks, long drives, and carefree summers — was right there on stage. It was one of those rare nights where the past and present meet, and you realize just how deeply music can shape your soul.”
Food was really great. The only strange thing? We had to pay for water — which definitely caught us off guard. Not exactly the norm in the U.S.!
Service was good. Friendly environment. Food is ok. If you plan for a energetic party, would be a good option
