I've driven past this restaraunt a few times a week for the past two years. Nearly every week I see cops, ambulance, and/or firetrucks. Due to this consistant sight, I would never feel safe going

My kids and I enjoyed the meals we all ordered, but thought the cinnamon roll was disgusting. Additionally, the gravy in the biscuits and gravy was NOT traditional gravy of any kind. It was gross, & a weird color. The restaurant boasted large TVs great for watching sports. Didn't get a chance to try their famous cupcakes, but hope to one day.
The service was excellent. Quick and Friendly. The breakfast was very good. I had the garden delight omelet was so fluffy and fresh, and the homemade potatoes were crispy and fresh. The additional fruit garnish was a plus. My wife and I will be back.
Kid-friendliness: I noticed how much the sever was was so kind to the family and their children. Very nice

I went and had the Traditional Eggs Benedict and let me tell ya....this has to be the absolute BEST Benedict ice had in many many years. It's homemade and it absolutely tastes like it. I've also had the pleasure of trying their MEATLOAF!!! The flavor reminds me of my mom's meatloaf and potatoes growing up.The owner came over and asked how our visit was and truly cared about what we had to say. The servers all greeted us upon entering and made us all feel at welcomed.I recommend giving this place a try.

We arrived around 11AM driving from San Diego to Sacramento and had to put gas. We saw the restaurant and thought that the wait time maybe 30 minutes, but wanted a diner experience. We got there, and it was pretty empty. They allowed us to sit where we wanted. The waitress was superfriendly and attentive. Th guests behind me were complaining about their country potatoes being burnt and cooked in old oil. Hoped that it was an anomaly, but it wasn't. I ordered waffles that came with bacon. Everything had a strange sourish after taste. Lost my appetite pretty quickly. Someone who looked like a cook in a red shirt came out to inspect some food that was at an empty table, and he seemed upset. Maybe another diner complained and he didn't like it. This place has potential, but they really need to get a new cook or chef. The potatoes from the prior customer were pretty burnt. The fact that they allow food to leave the kitchen in that condition reflects on their standards. If locals won't eat there, you shouldn't either.
I've gone several times now and have yet to be disappointed. The food is amazing (especially the chicken fried steak OMG). The staff are super friendly, and I love that it's dog friendly! Friday nights are trivia nights where you can win prizes too...so much fun. New local favorite!

What I love about BAPS! Is not only the food but, I LOVE the customer service. It's special to me that no matter how long between visits, they always remember who I am. Conversations are very genuine and not forced. Thanks BAPS! You always make my day.

The food was good, the service was ok, the prices struck me as high. I had the chicken fried steak and eggs ($17.99) and had to pay an extra $1.99 for toast. It tasted great but priced too high. My wife had the banana waffle which she enjoyed, but again priced to high $14.99.
Great coffee! The avocado toast is really loaded and prepared with fresh herbs and delicious balsamic. Pancakes and eggs were very good too. The country fried potatoes were definitely not good this time. Something was off, either burnt, wrong seasoning, somethig... but overall it a good place for a good breakfast.

The place is a sports bar that offers breakfast, lunch and dinner, with interesting art and a nice patio. As for food, I ordered the chicken fried steak with gravy. The food portion is ideal, and the gravy gives you that unique homemade taste, you can't go wrong with this plate. The the service is great too. However, I'll come back once I make more money as the $19.38 for the plate plus the tip kind of stung.

This place is a hidden jewel...I've been coming here for probably a year nowand everything is spot on. John and Josh cook everything to perfection from Pizza to burgers and everything in between this place ROCKS...no doubt. THE MUSIC is on point and the Beers are always frosty cold! They have family trivia nights every Friday which is a total blast!...I definitely would recommend this establishment to anyone who wants to expand their horizons and taste buds.....Bre and Trish are the best and will have you smiling ear to ear with their service. GREAT VIBES at BAPS for sure :) HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Great breakfast spot! I have a large group of friends that attends Escondido Cars & Coffee almost every Sunday at Kit Carson Park. We used to always go to Broken Yolk at the North County Fair mall afterwards until that shut down. We never really got back to having a regular breakfast spot, so have been trying new (to us) places. I saw BAPS! was close by and decided to give it a shot.I will preface anything else I say with: Bre is an incredible presence in this reatuarant! I am unsure what her job title is, but BAPS, you're gonna want to keep her around! The level of service she provided my husband and I with this morning was incredibly memorable, which is especially notable because she was the only server in the whole restaurant when we were there! Extremely attentive, friendly, and had a very pleasant attitude.Food was perfect! Husband ordered the French Toast meal and loved it! I ordered the Cheese Omelette and it was great as well. Everything was pretty fairly priced. We will definitely be coming back and informing our car group about this place!
My opinion of this place is pretty complicated, do not read this review as a routine praise or critique of the restaurant, this is more of an open letter to the staff and clarification that I think all customers should be aware of before saying anything about the restaurant. In short read the whole review. This is the initial review I had:Before I say anything else, the food is delicious, cannot express enough how good it is. The building location does not feel ideal, having location in an unorthodox place before building a reputation seems deter a lot of people. The time they have been open has been inconsistent, the first time I have tried to eat here it was closed during hours google said the place was open. The atmosphere of the interior and decoration is terrible, garage sale sheik is not the move for the brunch place. The building itself has great potential for interior atmosphere, the stone walls and window angles are very cool and could definitely suit a nice upscale trendy vibe nicely. The service seemed a bit robotic at first however it did grow on me. The physical menu system leaves more to be desired, they do not have a drinks menu for the bar, and the naming of all of the items on their menu is very plain, I had a hard time deciding what I wanted because of everything had a very basic name mostly like “original omelet” “original waffle” on a very clean cut menu didn’t quite vibe right with the wholesome Cali sports bar decor. My party ordered an omelette which I had, the country fried steak, and the banana foster. All of which were incredible. It is a shame that the banana foster is a special item and not a permanent menu item because it was delicious. This is where my initial review was interrupted as I was leaving the restaurant. My party stopped to ask a couple of questions about the dog and the decor. These interactions though short drastically changed how I saw this restaurant and will begin my second portion of the review. While I was eating there was a little dog making it’s rounds about the restaurant, we joked that this was the owner. Little owner has a little bed in one of the very back booths, I have seen some reviews that do not like this, and some that like it a lot. I found it rather charming, this restaurant is very dog friendly, the owner and and one of the staff members usually have dogs here. The decoration that I initially thought to not mesh with the building and other decor was largely justified as paintings and artwork by local artist, staff members, and family members. I still think the decor could be better arranged, and the light fixtures could be changed out for more fitting ones.Observation of other reviews and the owners savage clap backs to said reviews, as well as the information that the owner served in Afghanistan, as well as the owner cooks everything to order. And knowing how small the staff of the restaurant is, it became apparent that this is a family owned business. One every one of their employees are clearly very invested in. Before anyone forms an opinion about this restaurant they should be aware of what this establishment is, not a restaurant, this is someone’s home, that just happens to have very good food.
