The tasting was fun and the food was delicious. We so enjoyed meeting the incredible chef Barry Layne and Chelsea, the Director of Sales who worked with us throughout the wedding planning process. Barry and Chelsea were so kind and thoughtful with us during the whole tasting, answering our questions, letting us try multiple dishes and appetizers, and explaining to us how the process would work during the next year plus that we were planning our wedding. The hardest part of the tasting was deciding among the many delicious options.As I'm sure many couples can relate to, we have gone to a LOT of weddings during the last few years, and we understand from friends that even the best tasting is not always an indication of how the food will taste day of, when cooked for 150+ guests. Let me be clear: if anything, our food from Coast Catering was even BETTER on the day of the wedding than it was at the tasting, if that's possible. We picked the filet, petaluma chicken, and gnocci for our main dishes, and it was all incredible. We also can't speak highly enough about the arugula salad, which I wish we could eat every day of my life! And the other stars of the show were our passed appetizers: the tuna tacos, sliders, and mac and cheese bites. I could go on and on but to sum it up: it was all incredible, and I'm hoping to get invited to another Coast-catered event soon to eat it all again. A friend messaged us the day after the wedding and said: "I talk a lot about how nobody remembers food from weddings, but this may be an outlier for me."The only thing that was better than the food itself was Coast's service, which was spectacular. Our wedding planners advised us that a major reason to book with Coast is because they ensure the timing of everything is pristine, but I did not know how true that was with Coast until the day of our wedding. Flow is so important to ensuring your day goes smoothly, and Coast crushed it out of the park for us. The servers were so kind and served meals in sync, a small and wonderful touch that so many of our guests commented on and appreciated. I wouldn't change a thing about our day, and a lot of that is thanks to Coast's excellent execution of the food and service.And finally (I could go on and on, as you can see), what I appreciated so much was Chelsea's and Coast's attention to my husband and I the day of the wedding. We had appetizers delivered to us by a server at the very start of cocktail hour-- after hearing from tons of friends that at their own weddings, they never got to try the passed apps. We even had EXTRA apps delivered to us during dinner, which we happily gobbled down as we took a moment to spend time together at the sweetheart table, admiring our big day having come together. It is a no brainer to hire Coast for your wedding - the food is amazing, the staff are fantastic, and they are a great company. We are huge foodies and cared a lot about not having basic wedding food - Coast does not disappoint. The food is delicious and gourmet. And the whole ambiance and vibe they create is awesome. They also stuck with us through all of the craziness of weddings in covid times (we were originally supposed to get married in 2020 and ended up having our party in 2022) and we felt very supported by them as we navigated the changing times and made adjustments to our plans.

One of the best meals I've ever had at a wedding - and I'm so proud it was my own! Everything from our appetizers and oyster station, to the dinner and late night sliders was incredible (thank you Barry!!). Our guests could not stop raving about the food. And even more than the food was the outstanding service Coast provided throughout the evening. We were truly blown away by the impeccable service provided by the staff - they took care of our guests every need and kept everything flowing so smoothly - it was a well oiled machine! We did 3 food stations for dinner and I was really worried it would be confusing for our guests and cause congestion/lines, but Coast didn't miss a beat and guided everyone flawlessly - I felt silly for wasting a single worry on it! We worked with Matthew specifically and he was so patient with our continual contract changes, especially at the last minute, and Matt himself attended to my husband and I at the reception, personally served us our meals and making sure we got to try everything, which truly went above and beyond in my opinion and meant so much. Our venue was blank slate (Scripps Seaside Forum), so we also used Coast for our rentals because of their clear expertise of the venue's specific nuances, and that made it sooo much easier - they did not disappoint. My only critique was our struggle to get a hold of Coast in the beginning. I had followed up multiple times and almost gave up on them, but the lack of communication ended up being due to staff out with COVID and the ripple effect that was national production shortages and the insane 2022 wedding calendar... all very understandable and reasonable in the end, and once we contracted with Coast, we didn't have any issues from then on out. All in all, Coast is definitely on the pricier side, but ended up being worth EVERY PENNY. I highly recommend, and you will not regret working with them!
