My family has gone here for fish tacos twice now. Each time the tacos have been fantastic. El Camaron is my 13 year old daughter's favorite place for fish tacos.

Dont understand why this place gets negative reviews.

Small Hispanic-themed restaurant out in Escondido amongst several shops. Atmosphere is basic, but cozy and not too loud at all. Food is amazingly delicious and I understand the price concerns, but despite the portions the food does not disappoint. Your given attitude is a received attitude, and with my partner being of the backround; herself and our waitress communicated with no issue, and our waitress was absolutely helpful and kind, and ensured we were set with our meal.

I have come here 3 times within the past 3 years; one in which we have ran into Bam Margera! If famous figures can recognize good food, so should the locals.

The food was excellent, love the many tv’s they had to see a game and or several while you eat.

The shrimp with corn and the tacos gobernador were delicious

Best Tamarindo margaritas you will ever have. Food is delicious and generous portions. You'll have some to take home

First time and we will not return, terrible service, the waitress in a bad manner even turned her face when I asked her for something, we were not going to eat for free and rushing to pick up the plates is uncomfortable, you do not enjoy the food, by the way, very expensive for the portions, and the bathroom is dirty. ..

I love this place, the food is great and the service too. Everyone here works hard to make you feel comfortable and happy.

I have visited the place with friends to watch sports and we always have a wonderful time. Also, I have been there alone and it was cool too, the bartenders make conversation and double check all the time if you want more chips with hot sauce ( those are free).

If I could recommend something from the menu it would be the "Pulpo a las brasas", "Coctel de Camaron y Pulpo", "Camarones revolcados" and offcourse all the variations of tostadas that they have on the Menu.

I would recommend this place to everyone.

I went to El Camaron last Friday night. Our Server, Angie, was super friendly. I ordered shrimp botana, octopus tostada, and a mix tostada, along with two mojitos. The food was amazing.

I showed up on a Friday night with my fiancé and I was told that they only had one cook and they were going to have to close the kitchen early because they were so backed up. I am really let down because this is one of my favorite spots for mariscos. I hope you get it together soon how are you going to lose out on your busy night?

Edit:…
So we returned this time with our daughter on a Sunday afternoon we were in the mood for some octopus and boy we were impressed! Perfectly cooked/charred octopus (a las brasas) paired with their green roasted salsa and house made teriyaki which I wasn’t a fan of but I don’t like sweet on seafood. The waitress was pleasant and my baby liked her (that baby doesn’t like anyone ?) so that’s a plus. The whole experience was good, luckily it wasn’t too crowded.

I have to say. The food is not bad. Full bar. The only thing is that they need to work on cocktails. My Vegas bomb was not to appetizing. It was sad. Need better manly cups, too, for beer. Handle on cup is like for a 2 year old.
