Great home town, cafe, reminds me of small town cafes from back east. Staff has that perfect balance of sass and service. It's definitely a hidden little gem off the beaten path.

A locals joint that I've been a repeat offender to this establishment for years. I try to support this small business as often as I can. Everyone who works here are fun, accomidating and fast. If you're ever in Escondido/East San Marcos area, stop by and get refortified in the best way ever!!

Excellent choice for breakfast!! Home cooked meals. The corned beef hash was TO DIE FOR!! Eggs Benedict was great!! Prepare to wait a bit for a seat but it's well worth it!!

Love the food and the staff. My fav is country fried steak and eggs. But my 2nd go to is the Country Skillet. YUMMMMMM. Next time you go ask for counter butter. Much better on the bread, soft and delicious. Some say parking is hard, but they have decent parking and some of their neighbors let people park in their spots. DON'T skip it over parking go in and ask them where you can park. They will help. It's worth a minor inconvenience to eat there.

We really love this place. The food was good - but more than that, we loved the old school feel. It reminded me of going out with the family to breakfast as a kid. We enjoy sitting at the diner counter :) The service is good also. This place is quaint and cozy and we always want to come back here but their parking situation is so bad, we've had to turn back many times and go somewhere else OR we just don't even bother trying because we know we won't find parking. Even if you do find parking, it's a little scary trying to back out and leave. Let's just say... it's tight. Lol. I'm not sure if some people park far away and walk - we'd be willing to do that, I just haven't seen it. It's in an industrial area so that sort of explains it. This place truly is a hidden gem and it's really a bummer that their parking is such an issue. That's the only reason they didn't get 5 stars. We'll keep trying though!

Amazing breakfast/brunch spot. One of the best I've been to. Food quality and portions are fantastic, environment is old school breakfast diner. Lots to look at and see inside. Service is always friendly. They remember the names of their regulars and treat them as you'd expect. Only downside is the wait time for this place is usually around 20/25 minutes, but that's the price you pay for quality. Did I mention they have a Christmas tree with toys for your kiddo's? Super helpful if your little one is antsy and you're trying to keep them occupied :)

A hidden gem in the depths of Auto Park Way. I'm embarrassed to admit my office was close by and I never ventured over until recently. Nestled between body shops, this diner is almost always busy. Parking is limited but on weekends neighboring spots allow patrons to use their lots ( but not all of them so read those signs carefully). You'll see parties waiting outside but don't freak out; it moves quick. Once you're in your gonna see just how efficient the staff is! They're quick to get your drink, get your refills and get you fed. The taco omelette was my starting choice and there wasn't a crumb left. Pancakes are huge, so be ready and come hungry.

One of the best places I’ve been to in a long time. Best service, atmosphere and food for the price you pay. Wish I lived here so we could be regulars!

Fair prices, great food, and yummy gravy. This is a wonderful breakfast spot. In an industrial area in Escondido and parking can be a bit of a challenge but it's worth the effort.

Best chicken fried steak in San Diego, it was comparable to restaurants in the Southeast, which have PERFECT chicken fried

Breakfast was great. Shared some hash and pancakes with my daughter. My mom had Tony's breakfast sandwich and liked it (she's a picky eater btw) my husband enjoyed everything, food, service atmosphere. Be prepared for long lines and limited parking on the weekends, not sure about the weekdays, maybe it's not as busy. They have a tree full of toys from where each kid can pick out one item of their choice.Kid-friendliness: Tree of toys for a kid to pick out one

All our selections were composed from fresh and tasty ingredients. Very tasty! Arriving towards the end of the serving hours, we found that the selection of take-home baked goods was quite limited. But, that really was on US We ate outdoors and were met with limited pass-by traffic. This, however, was on a weekend day.

I've been eating here for the better part of 15 years. Don't recall who recommended this place but have never regretted it, have never been disapponted. Normally, I go for the biscuit n' gravy with a side of eggs but one morning I really had a hankering for a waffle, but realized it's surprisingly not on the menu. Mentioned this to the server, she says 'no problem'. 'Bout 10 minutes later, out comes a perfect waffle. Lightly crispy exterior but fluffy inside. The sandwiches, soups are great, go for the bean soup if available. Almost as good as moms'!!! Casual atomosphere, great food, good service and a real honest to goodness home cooking throughout. Nothing canned served here.

Very nice spot with fun toys for the kids. The waitress tried really hard to get out 1 year old to sit down with us so we could eat. they were all very nice and you could tell they are very happy to be there, so it was refreshing to visit a restaurant where employees are actually in a good mood.
