Huckleberry's Breakfast & Lunch

I had high hopes for Huckleberry’s—this was our first time visiting, and my husband and I love exploring new breakfast spots. Breakfast is one of our favorite meals of the day, so we were excited to try it out.

The experience started off well. Our waiter was friendly and attentive at first, but unfortunately, he didn’t check on us again until we had to flag him down for drink refills. That lack of follow-up really affected our overall impression.

When the food arrived, it didn’t come out all together. My husband and I got our plates first, but his potatoes were cold and his English muffin wasn’t toasted at all. My son’s meal—chicken tenders and fries—arrived much later than ours.

On the bright side, I really enjoyed my meal. I had the Bananas Foster with scrambled eggs and fried green tomatoes—everything was absolutely delicious. But it was disappointing to see my husband, who was looking forward to the meal, not enjoy his due to cold food and poor preparation.

Overall, while there were a few highlights, the inconsistent service and food quality—especially the cold plate—make it unlikely that we’ll return. There’s just no excuse for food coming out cold.

Tried this place for the first time. My plate the potatos were cool, the bacon looked like they sat on the grill for a long time, the english muffin wasn't toasted. Just had butter on it. Do people realize english muffins are sour until its toasted. My coffee went empty 3 times. I don't know if I will return, hopefully they fix it.

I’ve been coming here since they opened and have never had a bad experience. The food is delicious, with many options and the servers are very friendly. Occasionally they seem understaffed and service can be slow but the servers still make sure to check in on you. I highly recommend!

We were seated right away, which was a great start. We placed our order and the food was absolutely delicious! The busboy who was assisting our waitress was very attentive any time we needed something, he was on it right away with a great attitude.

At one point, my husband asked for a cup of coffee. The busboy kindly called over our waitress, and she brought the coffee but unfortunately, the cup had lipstick on it, and the coffee itself didn’t really taste like coffee. He asked for a second cup, and it was served cold. It felt a bit rushed, possibly because they close at 3pm and we arrived around 2pm.

Overall, the food was amazing, and the service from the busboy stood out. Just a little more attention to the details, especially with drinks would make the experience even better.

Great breakfast, lots of options! Location has plenty of parking, shopping options near by and the staff was tentative and friendly. Food was delicious and was a great stop on our way to San Diego.

This was a fantastic place to have a work breakfast. Excellent service (we were a group of eight), tasty and very yummy food at a good price point! Super nice atmosphere to boot.

First time here. Our waitress was super attentive and friendly. I had the Banana Foster French toast with eggs, sausage, and fried green tomatoes. My daughter ordered the spicy chicken sandwich. The chicken was perfectly battered (not over battered nor over sauced). Both meals came out perfectly 😋. There are many locations throughout the state. I'm definitely going to come back!

Huckleberries in Escondido is really nice and you should ask for the waitress Jessica she does a really good job and she's really nice

I ordered food to go. 3 scrambled eggs and chicken sausage. They told me it would take 5 minutes. After 20min of waiting, I received the food. Left to my next destination and opened up the eggs to find overcooked, dry no flavor eggs. I even found pieces of something else in them… No condiments or S/P was provided nor offered. The chicken sausage is delicious. The people are so wonderful and kind.
Positives: Easy to order, good price, cute restaurant.
Very disappointed in the eggs. They’re seriously so simple to make - HOW does this happen? Don’t want to tear the restaurant down with my review so giving three stars, but very upset.
