Got the breakfast sandwich, it's ok, not good enough for the price. They don't have half n half or cream which is frankly a little wild for a coffee shop. Americano tastes like water. Won't be back but glad to have something newer in the neighborhood that other people enjoy.
I went into James Coffee in Escondido while on vacation with my wife and we both agreed that is was the best coffee shop we had ever been to. I ordered a Mexican Mocha, which I would drink every day for the rest of my life if I could. The care with which every step of the drinks were made showed me how much they care about making the best drink possible. They were all so helpful and accommodating - we fell in love with this place. On a scale of 1 to 5 stars, we would give James Coffee 10 stars.

Who the heck puts spice on their Mexican mocha, I’m appalled. There goes my coffee budget for the day! I left there sad! Warn a B! The vanilla latte was good tho :) service is great!

Tasty coffee, great pastries, kind employees
Here's a place to avoid. Unless you like arrogant hipsters who made so you'll need to order your coffee the day before. It's everything Escondido shouldn't be, pretentious, self important and overpriced. And those jars you serve coffee in are stupid. We made handled cups so, burn your hands. There's your hot tip (pun intended).
Great coffee and baked goods with a focus on sustainability. The staff is young and not that friendly or welcoming, so that chills the experience a bit. The furnishings fit the vibe, but I wish it was a bit cozier, with some fabrics or cushions or something to soften it up (especially in the winter). Out of the way location, but worth finding it for a good coffee (I like the honey cinnamon)!

Love the atmosphere and very fast on the service. One of the few places that can nail the "Mexican Mocha."

Ordered the drip coffee. It was good. Not sure if it was amazing…maybe…it was gone too fast.

I've waited decades for decent coffee in North County, specifically, Escondido and San Marcos. So happy to have you, hope you stay forever 💓. Please work on consistency with your baristas, I generally just buy your coffee by the kilo and make it at home because of over or under extracted shots.

I was a barista in a cafe in Seattle for four years. That atmosphere and coffee quality is something I missed when we moved to the San Diego area. Found James Coffee in Escondido a year ago and it is my ideal morning office.
Coffee every bit as good as anything I had up north, bakery items are made in house and incredible, and ownership pours their heart and soul into the team members and the customers (its easy to notice when this isn't the case).
This place is everything I miss about the Seattle cafes with a much more laid back and friendly atmosphere. Keep kicking ass James Coffee and thank you!
ps - Bonus points for naming one of their coffee blends after Ilan Rubin!
