For a coffee shop you’d think they’d open a lot earlier. This is one of the coffee shops that has the latest opening time 730am?? 30 minutes before all the 8-5 folks have to clock in. This coffee shop would be thriving if it had an earlier opening time like most coffee shops do
The Kettle on Grand is one of my favorite coffee shops in Esco. The atmosphere is cozy, artsy, and perfect whether you're meeting a friend, working remotely, or just relaxing with a book. The staff is always friendly and welcoming, and they make you feel like a regular even if it's your first visit.
Their coffee is top-tier—smooth, rich, and crafted with care. I highly recommend the lavender latte or their seasonal specials, which are always creative and delicious. They also have tasty pastries and light bites that hit the spot without being too heavy.
Plenty of seating, local art on the walls, and just a great community vibe overall. It’s the kind of place you’ll want to keep coming back to. ☕✨
Comfortable coffee shop . Easy vibe. Great coffee
Wonderful staff great food. Great coffee.
I have been a patron of the kettle for more than a decade. I have seen it through different owners and managers and vibes, all the while counting to support my favorite local coffee shop. It is with great sorrow that I step away. It’s still the best coffee in town. Unfortunately, their policy to upcharge decaf coffee by 1.50 per cup (along with all the additional fees) have made them a place I can no longer frequent.
When the new owner came, he changed the name of the delicious decaf beans to say they were stripped of all joy. Which was funny and fine but it seems there is a vendetta against people who drink decaf in a way that feels ableist. There are many reasons for people to drink decaf, including chronic illness, disability, and pregnancy.
No other shop on grand charges ten dollars for a decaf latte, and based on the owners earlier comments, it feels like a vendetta. I understand that decaf beans may cost more (they didn’t by the bag when kettle roasted beans in house) but a pulled shot is a pulled shot. Luckily, Grand Avenue offers many coffee choices. I’m just sad that my favorite no longer supports every customer.
If you’re looking for a cozy café with a warm, inviting atmosphere and a menu that delivers, this is your spot. Make sure to try the Italian Stallion sandwich 🤤
I ordered a 12 oz. decaf pour over, because they didn't have a brewed version, and that's the only size in which it's served. As the "barista" was ringing it up he told me that it costs $6.20. As if that wasn't shock enough, it tasted like flavored water. I'll stick to Arco service station decaf while I'm in Escondido, because it's better coffee and costs $2.20 for a 16 oz

Served coffee with spoiled milk. Disgusting. And customer service was lackluster. No greeting at all when entering and standing at counter. Employees were having their own conversation. First time here and wont ever be back.

I showed up on Saturday (9/28) at 6:30 PM, and they were already locked up and closed. I'm really confused as to why, since the hours say they close at 7:30 PM. The chairs were already put up on the counters, and there was no one inside.

This place is great! food and drinks are great, The coffee is definitely some of the best in the area. And the service is straight forward not insanely fast, but you can tell every employee is focused diligent and not waisting anytime. They are all friendly and professional and the vibe is chill and inclusive people from all walks of life are here. Doesn’t feel pretentious.

I recently visited Kettle on the Ground and had a fantastic experience. The atmosphere is cozy, with a laid-back vibe that makes it the perfect spot to relax or get some work done. I tried the iced oat milk latte, and I was pleasantly surprised by how smooth and flavorful it was.

Dissapointing to leave here so hungry after breakfast, had to stop somewhere else for more food. $18 here is barely a snack.
They seem to be running on bare minimum here. Overrated, overpriced. Underproviding.
