I ordered a 12 oz. decaf pour over, because they didn't have a brewed version, and that's the only size in which it's served. As the "barista" was ringing it up he told me that it costs $6.20. As if that wasn't shock enough, it tasted like flavored water. I'll stick to Arco service station decaf while I'm in Escondido, because it's better coffee and costs $2.20 for a 16 oz

Served coffee with spoiled milk. Disgusting. And customer service was lackluster. No greeting at all when entering and standing at counter. Employees were having their own conversation. First time here and wont ever be back.

I showed up on Saturday (9/28) at 6:30 PM, and they were already locked up and closed. I'm really confused as to why, since the hours say they close at 7:30 PM. The chairs were already put up on the counters, and there was no one inside.

This place is great! food and drinks are great, The coffee is definitely some of the best in the area. And the service is straight forward not insanely fast, but you can tell every employee is focused diligent and not waisting anytime. They are all friendly and professional and the vibe is chill and inclusive people from all walks of life are here. Doesn’t feel pretentious.

I recently visited Kettle on the Ground and had a fantastic experience. The atmosphere is cozy, with a laid-back vibe that makes it the perfect spot to relax or get some work done. I tried the iced oat milk latte, and I was pleasantly surprised by how smooth and flavorful it was.

Dissapointing to leave here so hungry after breakfast, had to stop somewhere else for more food. $18 here is barely a snack.

They seem to be running on bare minimum here. Overrated, overpriced. Underproviding.

Friendly

I was meeting with a friend.
And we ended up in the Kettle on Grand
Walking in and seeing the bike
I wondered what this place would be like
Now, the girl behind the counter,
Told me to order with her
I smiled at her, and she at me
And asked “what will it be?”
I skimmed the menu for food,
And the soup and sandwich looked good.
My friends all ordered the same
Like lemmings, they followed my game
For drinks we each had a latte
‘cause that’s the drink for a hottie
The food was served with a smile,
So we decided to stay for a while.
The atmosphere was nice and friendly
The music not loud but still trendly
The manager passed in a flash,
The orders to pickup by DoorDash.
The owner, working at the bar,
Asked how our food was thusfar
He asked how we liked it here,
And told us now they even serve beer!
My friends left, and now alone,
I read my book and played with my phone.
I took my last bite and sip from my coffee
Packed my stuff and found my car key.
As I left, the girl said goodbye,
“come back soon”, I said I would try.
I’ll never go back to $tarbucks,
‘Cause compared to this place, it….

Not a bad experience but likely won't be back. paid almost $9 for a matcha with coconut milk, one of their seasonal drinks--probably the most I've spent ever on a seasonal drink anywhere. The flavor was good but the matcha was not whisked correctly before the milk was added, leading to a grainy texture in the drink. The sign said "ceremonial grade" matcha but after some research, it's a marketing term used in the west to sell matcha and has no real meaning. Overall, expensive and not very cozy, but definitely not a bad spot to get some work done, especially on Friday's when they are open until 7:30.

An absolute staple on Grand. The Coffee is great and they do awesome seasonal kind of specials that are always super creative and taste amazing. Customer service is top notch and the whole place has a very cozy modern cafe vibe.

The service was fine. The food was just okay and my plate had a short curly beard, chest or…?…hair on the plate. They do NOT turn on the air conditioning in the summer so be prepared to sweat while you are eating and drinking your coffee. I tried it, not for me.
