I go here as often as I'm in the area, at least the one in Escondido at the Shell gas station on El Norte. Best and I mean BEST Chile rellenos around, and I've lived in Mexico! Rafael always greets me with a "como estas"? The ladies at the register are always happy and know exactly what I'm gonna order. On the other side is the premium selections of liquor and beer. Steve and Elisa are always smiling and laugh at my jokes and barking dog. I do recommend calling ahead of time because they are THAT good, but it is fun to chat with people in line.Delecious!!! Five stars ☆☆☆☆☆

"The place is "A-OK" as three yelp stars indicate. This is for the Shell Station venue on El Norte Parkway. In a nutshell, the chicken soup is very very good and if one spends enough money on their order, a bag of tortilla chips and "one" salsa is complimentary. We also ordered two fish tacos since they were one of the few places that advertised not making them with tilapia. Unfortunately, one was a bit mushy and the other was WAY overdone. I wouldn't recommend either version actually. The salsa was ok but sign indicated they charged .25cents per extra sauce requested. That is a huge turn off for me. Service was very friendly and seemed happy to be there. Great for what they are known for but probably not for much else comparatively speaking."

What is up with this place? Of course, their soup is great, I love it -but this Lourdes (located in the Shell gas station) never answers their phone. Ever. I remember when I was working in Vista in 2017, I'd take my lunch breaks and drive all the way over to this location to grab a soup ...and even then it was tough to get them on the phone. It would ring busy, continuously ring and ring til I eventually had to hang up or they would answer then put me on hold and never come back to the phone. Their service is sorely lacking. But at least back then there was hope that they'd actually answer. And the other Lourdes has zero parking, I don't know what's worse lol. As far as the ambiance goes, it's in a gas station so ... yeah. I've never eaten inside before. Although that does make it easy to grab a nice cold Coke. All in all, the soup is really good, I've had their rolled tacos which were mediocre (and they're shiesty with their hot sauce). They make it really difficult to order from them when they don't answer their phones. I've ordered in-store there before and waited forever - that's why I always try to call ahead.

Just had the chicken soup- it did not disappoint! I’ve heard it’s the best when sick and that it is! My new go-to for chicken soup now.Lourdes also makes some tasty burritos as well! Love this place!
It's in a gas station, so atmosphere is not the key... that Caldo is!!!!!!! Everything everyone has told us about it was on point! Perfect for this cold we both have! Highly recommend!
