Their tacos are absolutely delicious! I really enjoy their farm to table concept, with great guisado options and their aguas frescas that rotate daily. One of my favorites tacos is the shrimp poblano, and the mushrooms al ajillo is a must. The place is small, and may take a little time to come out when they are busy, but worth the wait. It’s one of my favorite spots for lunch, and glad it’s so close to me. I’ve been telling everyone about it!
Chef Juan González has created the most amazing “hole in the wall” sort of restaurant with the boldest and most beautiful flavors one can find in all of San Diego county. Guisados aren’t a common restaurant fare in our SD taco shop scene, but places like Super Cocina have been delivering for decades. Consider Mesa to be the upgrade to Super Cocina, stuffing guisados into homemade tortillas with optional rich Oaxacan cheese. We took home what seemed to be a delicious looking...
I promise you that this is the best Mexican restaurant in the United States. The food is all made from scratch and everything tastes soooo fresh. Jose was extremely friendly and made this stop a highlight of my trip!
