To me, this is the best mexican food spot in Escondido. I've been coming here for 40 years. The food is very traditional with wonderfull taste and big portions. My go to is the adobada burrito with whole beans. Little hole on the wall spot traditionally decorated. The ladies taking your order are always polite and friendly. You'll have your food in less than 10 minutes from ordering it. Highly recommend this place.

$21.59 out the door after tip for huevos rancheros. I believe it was over $16 for the dish alone. If it was the best in socal, maybe. It was more comparable to daycare food. Not a single fresh ingredient. Not even any cilantro. Nice enough staff, but also charged more than the insane price listed on the menu hung up. Restaurant is OLD and grimy at best. Not a good look with this pricing/quality. I can appreciate a small diner, this is just run down. Don't let the reviews fool you. If you need clarification, ask any business around them. They just laughed when I asked about this place.

Esmeralda was very kind and welcoming on my first visit. This place has been around for over 40 years and it shows when you see how they are with customers. Like family. Tortillas were warm and fluffy, red sauce was🔥.
I’ll be back😎
Good prices and clean restaurant and restroom very comfortable and friendly
I been coming here for many years. But I hate to do this and write a bad review. But today’s visit left a bad experience because they nickled and dimed me for everything. I asked some radish and got charged. Ask the meet to be cooked well and they had a service charge for that. Apparently getting the meat well done should cost an extra 5 dollars.
Tasty breakfast burritos.
But pricy$$!
Zero atmosphere just a TV.
Great food. They have fish rolled tacos which is something that's not as easy to find. They were good for sure. Should have had guacamole on them for the price but still good. The shrimp quesadilla was really good. Will come back and try more soon.
Carne Asada burritos here are the best!

The food was fresh, well seasoned, and tasty. My torta bread was better than in Tijuana, and I appreciated that the carne asada didn't have excess fat on it. The server also accomodated my mother's request for a small bowl so she could have some of my daughter's albondigas soup.
