We were told at the entrance Today (Friday, June 20) is a federal holiday at the Safari Park and Zoo. Yesterday was the federal holiday not today. I can’t believe we drove all the way here, parked our car and got turned away because our season pass isn’t valid on holidays. Why didn’t they tell us at the parking gate because they scanned my membership card. I can understand denying entrance on the actual holiday but not on June 20. Thinking of canceling my membership after being a member for 32 years especially if they are now blocking more dates. Not happy.
I’ve always loved this zoo. Great facility and wide open spaces are great for the animals. They are well taken care of and it’s such a beautiful zoo to visit. Can’t wait to take my kids there.

I COME HERE EVERY WEEKEND.
Wow. Julie & I Love San Diego Zoo Safari Park So Much. I Sure I Love Getting Engagements. Wearing Fancy Casual Clothes & Casual Dresses & Low Heels.
This zoo is a real treasure! There is a wide variety of animals, from rare species to native wildlife, all in spacious, well-designed habitats. The staff is very knowledgeable and passionate about conservation.
One of the worst services I’ve experienced. The staff was rude and unhelpful. I ordered a Caesar salad, which turned out to be just lettuce and cheese. When I asked for croutons, they handed me a tiny portion in a ketchup cup. They served the food without a tray, and there weren’t any clean trays available ... They were like oh well guess we need to clean them 😅
The food was mediocre at best, with very few options for those who don’t eat pork. On top of that, it was ridiculously overpriced—imagine paying $80 for two salads and a cheese pizza. Definitely wouldn’t recommend.

Very basic and priced so high! You could count four pepperoni slices on an $18 flat bread.

We had one the best experiences we have ever had at a zoo today. We started off a little hesitant to spend the money to upgrade to a safari truck ride but ultimately decided to spring for it. Boy are we glad we did. We got the rare occasion of being 2 of 4 riders and the guide and driver decided to just do the deluxe tour! Our guide steve was phenomenal and I just wanted to ride with him all day. He was such a joy to spend time with and was so knowledgeable. You can truly tell that these people LOVE what they do and all of those animals. I can’t wait to make another trip to San Diego and do it again with my kids.
I really recommend it here
