I was excited to find a pizza place that stated it made New York style pizza. I started making pizza on the east coast of New Jersey when I was 10 years old. Unfortunately this pizza didn't even come close to New York pizza. The people were very kind, but the pizza fell way short. I ordered a sausage and green peppers, the sausage was definitely frozen at one point and tasteless, the pizza was so doughy on the inside, when you fold a slice of real east coast pizza the first half of the slice falls down. Not even close to thin flavorful east coast pizza, with freshly ground flavorful sausage. Oh well!!

You don't go to Pizza Amore for the atmosphere. You go for the pizza. The double pepperoni is reliably good, and the pizza with feta, tomato, basil, and red sauce is tough to beat. We get a 16" double pepperoni, and a 12" of the feta, tomato, etc., and that's enough for four of us. It's not the series looking pizza, but all the flavors are always good. They have yet to disappoint!

I've been eating this pizza for the almost 30 years of my entire life. The owner recognizes us when we call because our family always gets the giant pizza with the same toppings and we ask them to cut it in squares. As a kid we always got beef and jalapeño but we switched things up the last few years and added pineapple hahah my new favorite combo. The crust is not too thick and not too thin. And the next day, the leftovers are just as good (i do a few seconds in the microwave to warm up the top, and then a minute or two on a pan to get it a little crispy). So yummy!! I don't even live in Escondido anymore since I got married, but this is one of those places that are worth the drive. The owners are kind and gifted. They make delicious pizza and I'm so glad their business has continued to thrive over the years :)

Best pizza I've had since I lived in NY six years ago. Very reasonable price for a 2 topping 16" pizza if you use the carry out deal. Garlic knots were fantastic too. And the restaurant is IMPECCABLY clean. I wouldn't be surprised if the bad reviews about the food or the price were written by rival pizzerias.

BEST PIZZA IN TOWN! I’ve been picking up pizzas from this location since they moved here and I have yet to be disappointed with anything I order. The options are all delicious and the old man is my favorite character. One time he even put a smiley face on my pizza.
