I was passing through Escondido from Garden Grove and made a pit stop here for some much needed bánh mì. Bánh mì are some of my all time favorite foods and I eat them 1-3 times per week. Here in Garden Grove, there are probably about a hundred bánh mì shops. However, Son Tra was a delightful surprise because their đặc biệt bánh mì was amazing! I pate filling was generous and flavorful and the headcheese was an excellent addition. I haven’t had headcheese in bánh mì in a long time and love the texture. It was also perfectly seasoned. The carrots and daikon pickles were cut thick and provided great crunch and texture.What an awesome hole in the wall spot! Highly recommended. It was so good, I stopped by again the next day in the way back home.

Very cute small Vietnamese sandwich shop, nice folks inside, have other Vietnamese soups and some chinese food selection and do catering orders as well if planned.Love getting their pork sandwiches.So nice that a generous old lady gets to do something she loves in the corner of a store, it's not a fancy restaurant but it's every bit a small craft of love when you get their sandwiches.

This was a disappointment from the hole-in-the-wall ambiance to the dry, flavorless food. We ordered a variety of dishes and didn't like a single thing. The bahn mi sandwich was okay but still I'd give it 3 stars and everything else 1-2 stars. I'm not sure why others have rated this so high.

Overall, the experience wasn't very positive.The dining area is cold.The chairs are stained and dirty.The flavor of the BBQ Chicken With Rice was mediocre.Service is nonexistent.There is no restroom on site.Since the joint is known for its banh mi sandwiches and beef noodle soup, I recommend you stick to those, preferably for takeout.

First time visitors, we ordered a healthy variety of things from sweet (do NOT miss the pandan coconut cake/banh bo) to savory. The banh mi are great, but in my opinion the real stars are the steamed dumplings (banh bot loc).Everything we tried was made with care, skill, and high quality ingredients. Just wish they were located closer to us, but I'll make a point to visit whenever I'm in Escondido.

The food is amazing. I ordered the beef spicy food and it was out of this world that for reference I ordered the same order in other restaurants and they pale in comparison. You really can taste the love that they put into the food.I eat here at least once a week and will be doing so moving forward.

We love the bahn mi sandwiches. We’ve been multiple times and they’re always so fresh and delicious. My meat loving husband and kids love the vegetables in the bahn mi. We’ve tried beef, bbq chicken, pork belly, and bbq pork. They’re all great!There’s a long strip of fresh jalapeño that I take out rather than ordering without. It’s too confusing which is which and it’s super easy to find. Lol!We’ve had boba too and it’s also great!
