I finally checked out Surfing Crab, located at the Esco mall! It’s in the building formerly occupied by Romano’s Macaroni Girl. That was such a beautiful restaurant, I’m glad a new one has opened up here. Surfing Crab is quite an interesting establishment. There are a number of locations in Texas but this is their first and only restaurant so far in California! The menu seems to be a fusion of Cajun seafood boil and Chinese. Sort of "Ca-Asian” if you will. Service was very friendly and welcoming. We even met the older General Manager man who was walking around greeting guests, answering questions, etc. The vibe was fun, clean and modern. Beautifully decorated throughout. Drinks from the full bar seemed to be of very good quality.

We tried a few small plates, including hush puppies, pork egg rolls and crab puffs. All very tasty although the crab puffs (cream cheese rangoons) were not served with any dipping sauce. A sweet chili sauce is usually traditional. The hush puppies were very good but oddly served with a side of tarter sauce. The fam and I then shared a generously sized custom boil consisting of no head shrimp, green mussels and a lobster tail. Included corn, taters and sausage, all in a delicious cajun butter bath. I remarked how well everything was cooked. The seafood, veg, etc was all plump, succulent, fresh tasting and not overcooked. The only thing missing was a nice side of garlic bread or a crusty French loaf to sop up some more of that savory butter sauce.

Great food and wonderful service! Prepare to get messy, but they provide gloves, bibs, and copious amounts of paper towels to manage your dinner.

LOVED EVERY BITE! Serve and staff were very welcoming and kind. Service was quick, and her server was super friendly, attentive, and kind.

Food was amazing but staff another story. Was not greeted just was told Sit here pointing to the table. It wasnt even busy. Then never gave us our appetizers that we ordered and they still wanted to charge us. When we told them we never got them The manager looked annoying. Our food was delicious.

Food is delicious. Place is super loud and noisy but service is
great. We've asked for Carrie the server and have had her on three different occasions. She goes above and beyond each and every time. We've brought several different people here after loving it on our first time
