An employee in the coop recommended this restaurant and seemed enthusiastic about its food. so we gave it a try and it did not disappoint. Mother and daughter are a cooking team and you feel that you are invited guests to their table. I had the salted fish stew and it was favorable with Caribbean spices and moderately spiced. the cod is salted but it is not too salty when combined with the rice and vegetables in a wonderful sauce. A friend has the oxtail and the meat was so tender it melted in your mouth. This place is about the food and it is tge food that provides the comfort. There is nothing fancy in its decor but if you want a home style made to order meal this is a place t go in Eureka that is different than most ethnic restaurants in the area. The House of Bim is reasonably priced and the portions of food are generous. Also try the homemade guava juice to add to your tropical restaurant experience

Food was tasty but ended up finding some little pieces of meat in the stew which upset my stomach later. I tried to ask several times if it was vegan and they said it was, but found meat in the dish.
Lovely little place for something different. Grandmother and granddaughter team were great.

Well, since I'm still in Eureka and it's dinner time, I figured I'd eat ..sometimes I just have a spark of brilliance like that!
I wasn't up for my typical fare, so I asked around for unusual places to eat, then I came upon this island dude playing calypso music on a steel drum on the sidewalk, and asked him where he would go...and between tokes he layed out A Taste of Bim Caribbean Restaurant to the soft beats of his steel drum. So off I went, and truly enjoyed an amazing meal, it didn't have a name because I just asked for a chicken dish with no curry, and what I got was really exceptional. The Caribbean food from A Taste of Bim is 5 stars all day long! ☆☆☆☆☆

My husband and I were traveling through and decided to try this AMAZING restaurant in Eureka. Taste of Bim did not disappoint. The food was fresh, locally sourced, and was absolutely delicious. I had the fried chicken and it was so flavorful, including the rice and peas, and the veggies! Don’t get a salad! My husband had the oxtail and cleaned every bone. Even the ice cream was out of this world. So glad to support a local small family run business, and I know that if we ever come this way again, Taste of Bim will be on our list of stops.

Do not go to their food truck, food was cold, poorly seasoned and the Mac n cheese looked like they microwaved it to oblivion.

Really great vegan options. Idk what that other person is talking about. The owners are really wonderful people from the Caribbean and do a lot for our community in Humboldt County so it means a lot to support them. Family business! I walked in craving plantains and I just said I’d love some veggies rice and plantains. They made me the most nourishing meal. Cooked soft veggies almost like a curry? Over rice with perfectly cooked plantains and a refreshing drink with fruit and spices. It truly felt like I was eating food made by someone who loved me. The food has soul and love and the flavors are so good. Don’t sleep on this place. Restaurants like these are gems and staples in our community. They make you feel like home. We had a really great conversation with the owner and they genuinely are awesome people. Besides that the food is so bomb!
You will find kindness and tasty refreshing food
The jerk chicken is especially delicious, but the grilled mahi mahi and fried sweet plantains are also amazing!
