I paid for a king suite and a Karen was ahead of me who didn't have a reservation and complained and they gave her my sweet and put me in a queen room.. It was tiny and horrible and noisy and when I said something about it they said they'd give me a night off, for free. They agreed to it with my booking company and then I paid an extra $58 for the fee and then they changed their minds. Decided not to do it and treated me like complete trash and I paid almost $400 a night for this suite and got a stupid tiny room. I honestly probably paid more than that because it had the hot tub in it and it was supposed to be huge and I went into a closet size room that barely had a queen bed in there. Also it's nothing amazing and it's not that clean.

Beautiful old timey, luxury hotel. Feels very grand. There are mini fridges in the rooms however there was no water. The vending machine didn't take card so we had to go all the way down to the lobby to get water in a tiny paper cup in order to have something to drink so make sure to pack in your own bottles.Food & drinks: The bar is exceptional quiet and dark. They had a real person playing a piano inside when we went which really added to the atmosphere. The drinks were expertly made.

This is a cool retro hotel. It has a 'just stepped right out of the 1920's vibe.' The entry is spacious with plenty of seating and a grand piano. They also have a bar. Our room was spacious with an intimate feel to it. We will go back with

Nope. Biggest issue: the mold and cleanliness. Biggest perk: the hotel is cute and during Christmas time even more so. The hotel is older and on the coast so I know the mildew smell is just part of it. What I didn’t expect was so much black mold that I would leave 5x more sick than I was when I arrived. I saw black mold all over the window frames in our room - every window. If they can’t even bother to wipe that off, imagine how much is in the vents and walls? My toddler also found a rotten apple core right under the bed skirt. Hotel staff was 3/5 stars friendly, couldn’t be bothered with much. I think for the aesthetics alone, it’s probably one of the better places to stay in Eureka, but at a cost. The entire 24 hours after leaving I was having a mold illness reaction in severity I haven’t ever had before. I could not have stayed more than one night.

Incredible and history place to stay at a fairly affordable price if you're planning to visit the Redwoods! From Churchill to Princess Leia, this place has hosted icons of all kinds. A majestic Inn-deed!

Stayed for a week. On day one my TV did not work. The desk clerk came up and fixed it after I reported the problem. I noticed a few ants on the bathroom floor but did not ask to change rooms after reporting because it’s an older hotel. Two nights later I woke up to ants crawling on my arms and chest. I had no food in my room except a leftover dessert in the refrigerator that i threw out after finding ants in the box with the dessert. I checked out of the hotel and was charged the last night because I violated their policy for early checkout. They do not have an insect Infestation early check out policy. The front desk clerk was rude and not helpful. No manager was on duty at 9 am. I was told she would call me but that did not happen. My traveling companion had ants in her room as well. Not as bad as mine but she was on the same floor a few doors down from mine.Breakfast is very mediocre. The grounds are decorated for Christmas so it looks festive but overall the hotel looks very run down. We were warned not to be out after dark in the area because of the crime. On the plus side the place had plenty of vacancies, I only saw three or four people all week.Would suggest staying in Arcata near the airport or south of Eureka. Avoid this place.

I love " walking through history". There is a level of amazement that completely can enhance an experience when spending time, visiting, historical places, dining in them, and it's that feeling of walking through the words of a really good book. The Eureka Inn was supposed to be one of those magical historical places. I was so excited to spend the night at this hotel. There have been some famous figures from my past that have stayed here, some amazing political figures that have stayed here, and some well-known people from The world that have stayed here. You can tell the excitement was building. Parking was fairly easy enough and free which is always a huge plus. There is no one to assist with bringing bags in, but we were able to find baggage carts on our own, and bring our luggage into the hotel. Upon checking in at the desk, the woman sitting behind the plastic wall was abrupt, we both tried to chalk it up to her, perhaps having a bad day. After we had paid for the room, and the intent was to be able to put a little time in working, she informed us that many of the amenities that we needed would not be available. I personally questioned this because how could Internet not be available in the hotel? She pretty much made it obvious that she didn't care, and it created a problem for us. We decided to take our things to the room and go from there.Upon entering the room, Eiht, the fact that the bed was made, the floors were incredibly dirty, both in the bathroom, as well as throughout the suite. The bathroom... Not only is this disgusting to have to write, but it was disgusting to have to deal with. The toilet was filled with what I only assumed to be human feces, the bathtub and sink were filthy, and there were bugs, crawling all over. The sink itself was basically a bowl sitting on top of a makeshift Table that was literally stuck between the commode and the shower/tub stall, blocking off safe entry into the shower. The sink was not attached to the makeshift table and very easily could have fallen, and either broken, or someone would've gotten hurt. The thought of going downstairs and dealing with the lady behind the desk was unappealing, but there was no way that we were staying in that room. We went down to speak to her, and at that point explained about the Internet and other things going on in the room, and she said that she would drastically reduce the cost of the room. She also said that she would move us to another room. We were given keys to another room, and moved the luggage ourselves. This room had two beds in it, the floors were dirty, countertops were filthy, and the bathroom was also dirty. Thankfully, the commode was clean, but that was the extent of it. Ants and bugs could be seen crawling all over the room. I certainly didn't want to have my personal belongings in this room nor did I want to stay there. we spoke to the woman again and she said that that was just the condition of the hotel and all the rooms are the same. We both found that hard to believe.A quick trip to a local store, and I was cleaning up the room so that we could spend the night in it. No one, and I mean no one should have to clean a room that they're paying to stay in, especially one that cost as much as this one.The following morning we went downstairs for the breakfast that was included in the cost of this overpriced room, and there was no breakfast to be found. There was a couple of pieces of fruit, and a stale muffin that look like it came from Costco. We were not late to breakfast , we were there at 7:30 in the morning because we both wanted to get out of the hotel at that point. I went to the desk and I spoke with a man and explained what our situation had been from start to finish. I said the woman was going to adjust the rate and he said he would take care of it and make sure that, we were compensated for the room, and apologized that we had to deal with the fiasco, etc.As it turns out, my credit card was billed for the full amount, and I have tried numerous times to get the hotel to make this

Stepping thru the door of the Eureka Inn is like setting your hot tub time machine for the 1920s . It is a national historic place built for sophisticated social functions and to accommodate the white ladies and gentlemen who require refined lodging. Thousand year old towering redwoods were used in the construction of the hotel to make it as comfortable as a spotted owls nest for the up and coming industrialists and buisness men traveling to the area to exploit the nature resources. Over the years, there have been successful efforts to do renovations and modernize the rooms while preserving the splendor of the grand lodge. The Inn offers full service banquet facilities and can accommodate 400 people parties for wedding receptions or large gatherings. The Christmas tree lighting is renound as a fancy tradition that celebrates the height of the now destroyed forest that surrounds this area.

My now husband and I stayed here for the night of our wedding. We had an elopement in the forest and I was looking for something in budget but unique to stay in. The Eureka inn was the perfect place to pick. The whole atmosphere and architecture is astonishing. There's detail in every corner. The rooms are simple but felt so luxurious (I'm a simple person) for it being an older place it didn't have an oldish smell. It smelled clean, but not sterile. The whole place was impressively clean. The staff were very polite and accommodating. Definitely worth the stay or even just to pop in and check out their lounge or dinerNoteworthy details: You step into this hotel and you step into the 1920s era. Down to the phones in the rooms. They even still have the display of old room keys behind the counter. Some would say outdated but they clearly don't have the eye to appreciate the vibe and era of this hotel.

Hotel has a great lobby, and the staff is excellent! However, the room was not that clean, TV was small, and outdated, walls and doors are paper, thin, can hear everything!
